Why are the words "Mountain West" and "airport meeting" running in my head right now?

Oh, wait. No I don't. We're the school with the president who has baldfaced lied about everything related to athletics for 18 months, fudged enrollment numbers to make a decline look like an increase, and, in another unrelated display of his PR wizardry and people skills, has now somehow managed to fan the flames into a 3-alarm fire on campus over feral cats. Chuck Staben is truly something to behold.

You are the ones who released that consultant report, you are the ones currently FBS. You highlighted a path to a WAC revival. Lead the way, Vandals

If you go to the WAC, others will follow. Show the Montanas and Dakotas you are serious about remaining FBS. That would be my message if I was the Montana president or chancellor

Waded Cruzado will lead the charge. She's got balls and the backing of the Montana Board. She probably didn't OK a move to FBS in 2011 because of the financials, which killed the FBS WAC for a time,

And the financials are better today? What makes you think Cruzado wants anything to do with FBS? Let me guess, the second Cruzado comes out and says no way to the WAC she will be a hack who just doesn't have any vision.

The Big Sky is obviously too big and unwieldy as is and that's one possible solution to the problem. It's just that that's a big leap, and then there'd be about 4 more big leaps before you had an FBS conference. So the smart money is against it. NoDak is like the guy in Vegas putting his money on Butler to win the NCAA basketball tournament. It's probably not going to happen but it pays off at 150/1 if it does.

I actually agree with you. I do think it is possible, if not likely some BSC schools look to get out of the BSC. My guess is Cal Poly (FB), Davis (FB), Sac State, SUU and NAU have already been contacted by the WAC. NMSU drops down and suddenly you have a nice FCS conference out west to compete with the BSC. Pick up a D2 move up, or two for all sports and the WAC is stable. Get rid of UMKC and CSU and you even have a better geographic footprint.

But it won't be an FBS conference. Neither Montana school will leave the BSC, Idaho is going to be in the BSC and UND is not going to the WAC.

There, I saved the WAC and made the Montana schools happy all in one post.
