so help me out here. Tulane goes 4-1 in the west and finishes 5-3 overall. Utep goes 3-2 in the west and finishes 6-2 overall. Tulane beats Utep head to head. Who wins the west?

I read his question and can't help but wonder if it is serious. Surely he must know that the team with the best conference record is the champion? In this case, it would be UTEP.

No, no, he was serious. What is interesting is how many people don't know how results are tallied and that ALL conference games cary the same weight. It is just as important for us to play well against USM as it is against Rice.
