It is understandable that there are less comments, the fans on here are very interested in the team and are disappointed with the results. But, there has not been a lack of effort. For all the criticism of Cluely, or the special teams this year, there has not been anyone that said that they are not trying. Steve played much better on Saturday and played very hard. In the end, JMU made a few key plays in the 2nd half and we had a few key turnovers and we lost. It is a formula we have seen for the last 6 times up there. No one here is jumping sides to the Dukes, or the Spiders or any other team, I would not trade any of my time, the relationships and what makes W&M special for anywhere else. The younger guys on defense like Atkins and Parker have had a great opportunity and made great strides. They are already good players who will continue to progress. Funderburke also appeared to be a good player and his injury was unfortunate.

I and 18 others will be there Saturday to cheer hard for the Tribe regardless of the result. Your post was totally correct. Some of us just hoped for more this season and are working through disappointment. For me, much of it is still being stunned we lost to Elon. But, I will never give up on the Tribe and appreciate the committment it takes to be a full time athlete and a full time student at W&M.
From your previous post I would expect nothing less. Great fan! Go Tribe!

If anyone thinks we have been too negative or critical this season, revisit the 2014 JMU game postings. There was some real anger and venom in those posts. Just disappointment mostly in the ones from the last 3 weeks.

I've been through too many down years in all sports to lose it over one. Great mid-2000s run blahs into a terrible 07 season and improvement in 08 to a great 09 season to hightened expectations in '10, back on our face in 2012, and CAA Champs after that. You'd go crazy as a W&M fan if you let one year get to you.

One Tribe. One Family.

Absolutely. 2009 football and 2013 basketball were great fun seasons but also so close to uncharted amazing pure joy territory. I am sure baseball fans in Chicago have similar feelings right now.

Not sure I can pull for the Cubs since a former Villanova #4 plays for them.

It "only" took me 12 hours to drive up from Concord for that game. I wore my snowmobile suit, so I was nice and warm. One of the most miserable 4th quarters I have ever witnessed. I am so innately cynical, I knew we would lose, it was just a matter of how long it would take.

Next worst 4th quarter was around 1991 when Tribe hosted JMU and had a 15 point lead with just over 6 minutes left in 4th quarter and I told my buddy who was HUGE JMU fan, its over. NO way JMU could come back.

Two TDS and 2 point conversions later, I was buying his dinner at Captain George's.

You have to be a little bit of a masochist to be a Tribe fan

Beat Delaware! Go Tribe!

For those going to the game Saturday and you enter the stadium using the Randolph Gate (#2) try using the archade as soon as you enter. It is a quicker way to the west side stands, especially if you are in the new deck, since most people go the way they always did. It brings out on the main concourse and new facilities.

I guess the old saying; if you can't say anything nice about someone, don't say anything at all, applies here.

Just because it is old and it is a "saying," does not make it right.

The team is 2-0 against MEAC teams, but 0-1 against the ACC and 0-3 against the CAA.

Here's another old saying for you:

You are what your record says you are.

We're here. We're watching. We're attending the games. We're supporting the team.

There's nothing else to say at this point.

RE: Game 7 - Delaware
This team as yet to play a game in the manner we are accustomed to. Meaning no dumb penalties, making smart plays and solid special team play. The defense has played better than expected, take away the NCSt game and we are giving up 25/game and if the punting game had just been decent it would drop to 21/game. Before the season started we all figured the offense would be putting over 30 per game and would have been jumping for joy over that prospect.
It is time for this team to play Tribe Football

Also, no Wes Hills for Delaware today. That is good news (leading CAA rusher).
