RE: Let's talk basketball
I won't complain about two wins after our poor non-conference. Anything can happen in our conference tournament to get us into the NCAA tournament. Keep up the good work team!

RE: Let's talk basketball
Conference road wins for a young team are a good sign especially without Homesley and Dawson not himself. Kemrite has been solid all year. Cabbil is having a good stretch the past few games. Encouraging to see 3 freshman playing a lot and producing. Good sign for the future.

And our incoming recruiting class is equal to or better than this last one? We should be in pretty decent shape.
If we can get a little taller and a little more athletic that'd be great.

We picked ourselves up. Good job team and it seems we saved our best for conference play.

The next 5 should tell us a lot about the team. 3 on the road. 4 against teams lower than us in the conference (so far). The big one coming up is the Winthrop game. I'd like to see us go 4-1 in the next 5, but expect us to go at least 3-2 to even our record up.

If we win today we will be 10-9. When is the last time we had a winning record? Chance for a big step forward. Go Flames!!!

RE: Let's talk basketball
If we finish with a winning record, that would be huge, especially with recruiting. We have tangible proof to show that we're improving and that they can be the difference between a trip to the NCAA tournament or not. I really hope we keep winning and get our basketball to the point of expecting to make the NCAA tournament annually.

Just wow! Huge first half. Huge second half meltdown. Huge composure in OT. Well done Flames. Keep on rolling along.

RE: Let's talk basketball
Such a relief to pull it out. I saw we were up by 20 in the second half and thought we were good. Style points won't matter if we win the Big South. We will still get a low seed so just keep winning!

Yeah, we were up 32-12 at the half and the largest 2nd half lead was 25. Obviously you can't blow that kind of lead, but at least the kids had the fortitude to win in the end.

We should win 2/3 games. That Winthrop game will be tough. At least it's at home.

Looking pretty good in the last few games. The big test is next. We need to start beating teams that have a pulse. Winthrop and UNC Ashville are the only two teams on our schedule that offer that opportunity.

Thinking maybe 19-13 regular season. That would be great and a lot to build on. I just don't have confidence right now that we can win BSC tournament. But I do think we can have a 20 win season. Can you imagine that?

RE: Let's talk basketball
I'm proud of our team for fighting back and winning the last game. Dawson in particular did well.

We are tied for first in the conference! That's exciting despite it being only the Big South. It is a shame we did so poorly in the non-conference portion of our schedule but we still control our own destiny. In my opinion, we have as good a shot as anyone in the conference tournament, though I say we are a long shot to win. We just play too close of games and I think that will bite us in the end.

I was hoping we'd be a litte more competitive today against Winthrop even though I expected this loss.

Obviously our next hurdle as a program is being able to beat a good team. We've shown we can handle the teams we are equal too or should beat. It'll just take time.

Best part of the game... the crowd! Great to see a good crowd at an LU game.

Crowd announced at 4,185. Looked bigger on TV. I guess everyone was on one side of the arena. Capacity is 8,085. I thought the Vines Center was bigger than that.

Saw the BSC was ranked 21/32 conferences. That's higher than I expected.

We are headed in the right direction in MBBall. This year is a improvement over last and last year was the HC's first year. I'm not expecting us to make the NCAA tournament this year but next year it's entirely possible.

That was a great game at Campbell today. The D was smothering.

We should win 4/5 games (Pres, Rad, @GW, HPU, Chuck So.). That would put us at 17-11 and still in the hunt for the conference champ. I expect to lose @Winthrop and @Ashville with a home win vs. Longwood. We should finish 18-13 heading into the tournament.

What a great turnaround in two seasons.

RE: Let's talk basketball
What a last two games! I hope we aren't peaking too early. Regardless, the team has been impressive and we should be competitive to win the autobid at the end of the year.

I was hoping this year we'd be fighting for the championship with next year being the expected year that we win it. We seem to be on the right path and I hope we continue and grow.

The game winner over Radford was clutch. We need games like that. Develops character. So very happy about being 15-10. Clearly we have two hurdles left... figuring out how to beat Winthrop and Ashville.

That 2OT win at GW was super impressive. This team showed some real intestinal fortitude coming back like that and making Big plays, especially on the road and against a decent BSC team. This LU team is showing great character and maturity for young guys. I am SO happy for them. I expect to close the year out winning our home games and losing on the road to Win and Ash. That'd put us at 19-12, with a great shot at a 20 win season! But what a great season it's bern so far.
