Once again we lost a lot of matches by pin. It's going to be a rough year.
Other than Tutolo, we went bust in Vegas. Our inexperience was on full display and cost us a lot of matches. I watched most of the matches on Flo and my frequent response was: "What are you doing?".

133 Tutolo had a very strong tournament and will get a better ranking as a result. He had 2 solid wins (7-5, 8-3) before getting pinned in his 3rd match. The match was competitive until he was caught off balance and was put to his back. He rebounded nicely with a big win over a returning AA. In the 1st period of the match, it looked as though he was going to be pinned but he survived the 6 point move to storm back for a marquis win.
141 Driscoll went 2-2
149 Rooney went 1-2
157 Sparkman had a TF but was concussed in his 2nd match and had to forfeit the remainder of the tournament.
165 Bast went 0-2. In his second match, he had his opponent in a cradle but instead of getting the pin, he was pinned. That's not supposed to happen at this level...
174 James lost his opening match to the #5 seed in an OT thriller. He won 2 matches before losing 4-0. During his last match, he put his opponent on his back but failed to keep a toe in bounds, missing out on a pin or at least 6 points. He was injured later in the match and couldn't bounce back.
184 Spohn went 0-2. He lost 4-14 and by fall. In his LBF, he had position but inexplicably gave it up. Just like Bast, he gave away a win.
197 Suglio went 2-2 with a pin versus the #10 seed.
285 Nye went 0-2.
Making matters worse, Central Michigan had a very strong tournament. We're going to take our lumps this year for sure. I'm still optimistic about Tutolo, Sparkman, James, and Conel (maybe).
