So kick out the only teams not named Clemson and FSU to win the Atlantic and replace them with mediocre programs in mediocre markets? Sounds more like a Big XII move.

VT / WVU
Pitt / Penn St
UVA / Maryland

A nice little OOC triple-play!
Maryland and UVA are not football rivals. I don't think the game would generate much interest among fans of either school.

Ideally, I'd prefer Maryland to open the season against Navy and West Virginia in alternating years at either M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore or FedEx Field in Landover, MD.

SU, UMD, PSU, Pitt, BC, ND, WVU, and Navy should all play each other as often as possible. VT and Miami would also be great addition to the mix.
If the Big Ten conference goes to a 10 in-conference game schedule, I don't see that happening. But I wouldn't mind watching UMD play against WVU, Navy, SU and Pitt on a more frequent basis.

If the Big Ten goes to 10 games, how could you ever rank them against the other conferences prior to the bowls? There would be no reference point...
