+2 for you amigo. The Gumps ran roughshod over this board when they were on top. Then disappeared like Baptists in a liquor store when someone that knows them sees them. And stayed hidden. Their heavy fist was even worse because half the moderators were Gumps and if you said something they didn't like you got put on probation. The only Troy fan that I was able to stomach was Paul of Troy and I have no idea where he is these days.

They're starting to creep out of their hidey holes this year like Saddam coming out of the tunnel he was hid out in.

That said I agree there was much smack being talked by the smug Red Woofs talking major playoffs this year. And most disappeared. Not you or Chief but the majority hid out until 12 seconds left in the game last night.

I lived on this board through 0-28. Was one of the very few Western fans. I don't post near as much these days win or lose. But it's natural to disappear when things aren't rolling. Who wants to get on and talk about how they suck?

Rolling my eyes right now. That can be said about any fan base that's been on top. Btw. Paul of Troy is still on here as he posted a couple days ago.

TROY fans got a big piece of humble pie. Some are still picking crow from their teeth. I can't speak for all TROJANS but after 5 straight non-winning seasons, I for one am waiting to exhale. Maybe if we can get to 7 wins I can breathe.

I hope Arkansas State is headed back in the right direction as the conference needs it and I genuinely like y'all. ...BUT what I saw was two bad teams, at least poorly coached, play last night. The least bad team won. That was a bad game all the way around from play, coaching, effort, officiating, etc.

I hope you're appropriately critical of your coaching staff moving forward and not setting yourselves up for disappointment.

Their not out of the woods yet. It's just after our first 4 games, that game, frightening as it is, was a huge improvement.

Well, that's certainly a coward's approach... I'd want a full strength stAte team coming to Troy so if your team is really better, when you beat them the victory is that much sweeter. But I guess hoping for the weakest possible team is one way to go about it.

I'm with other Bobcats in that I'm glad Georgia Southern lost. But, I'm glad because now they have a conference loss. That means mathematically at least, my Bobcats are still in good shape for a shot at the conference title.

Just like after this weekend (assuming we win), I will be rooting for Georgia State to run the table the rest of the season.

stAte is always a tough game for Troy. I think Troy is good, but we need a couple more games to prove we belong as a top contender for the sun belt title. It's reasonable that we can get a win vs Georgia State next week. It will be very tough to go through USA, APP, ASU, and GSU without a loss. Who knows what Texas State is.

I know we played miserably in the first four games but I don't think we were that awful last night.
We had 5 horrible plays, but outside of that, we moved the ball well and defended very well.

525 yards of offense, 27 first downs, more yards rushing than first four games combined, only one three and out the entire game. Gave up 66 yards rushing in the 2d, 3d, and 4th quarters combined, an average of 2.2 yards per rush on 33 attempts.

I know Georgia Southern was coached to lose but them's some good numbers for AState, and forcing seven three and outs (three first half, not counting the turnover on downs in the first half) is pretty good.

OK Blake Anderson shows up at the start of conference play this year 0-4, vs 1-3, and most of the posters here have them as a "w" based on how good you think your team is based on their OC play, and how bad A-State is based on who they played in theirs.

I can assure you every one of your coaches is going to comment about their talent level, and despite the fact they are probably the most fundamentally unsound team in college football, will struggle to beat that talent, and most will not beat them.

Oh yes as far as the pecking order in the SBC other than those turnovers, they physically beat the crap out of GaSo, just like they did AppSt at their place last year.

As far as Troy, welcome back, things are back to normal now.
