It will be interesting to see what the final record is of the team who wins the NFC East. It is conceivable going 6-10 (or perhaps 6-9-1 in the case of the Iggles) could be enough in this collection of suckitude. How times have changed.

(and it wasn't long ago 3 of the most valuable/richest professional sports organizations in the world came out of this division...Cowpunks, Giants, and Team Formerly Known as Redskins...along I believe with Real Madrid and the NY Yankmes...but, I believe that has changed and some NBA teams are probably in that list now with the popularity of that sport at an all-time high and globally too)

Good question, and knowing the always unpredictable Jerry Jones, it is a flip of the coin. The 'boys have confidence in Nooch, but they may want to sign a veteran backup with experience. I wouldn't be surprised if they sign another QB and Nooch is in the #2 spot.

I doubt the Cowboys sign another QB anytime soon. They have an excellent #2 to replace Dak, and Ben will simply move up to the backup position.
Dallas can win this awful division with Dalton as the starter, but if he goes down I’m sure they would want another veteran to step in. So I don’t doubt one bit they’ve been looking over every FA and possible trades right now.

Negative. Nooch steps into the #2 spot.... https://www.profootballnetwork.com/ben-d...arterback/

agreed but this only solidifies Ben as the #2. McCarthey must have faith in him to be a serviceable backup

More evidence that Ben is now #2.

Would it be bad to hope that Dalton get's a non painful injury that would not allow him to play?

I'd rather Dalton play terribly then ben comes in to play evenly slightly better to secure a spot on the roster for next year since Dalton is only on a 1 year deal

I imagine Andy will have quite a long rope before he would be sub'd in for by Ben.

While I think Dak was the better QB, I'm anticipating they will have a lot of success with Andy as well.

Worst part is that Dallas won't ever get up by a bunch of points for them to but in the backups. Gonna have to bank on Andy Dalton being classic pedestrian Andy Dalton

With their defense they can definitely be down by a bunch of points lol

As I have been saying since Dallas signed Dalton, I just don't think he is that good. I truly believe Nooch is better. He is certainly more mobile and can get out of tough spots that would leave Dalton on his butt on the turf. We will see, but I believe it is very possible that Dalton will get yanked at some point (Jerry does not have a lot of patience with non-performers), giving Nooch his big break. From there, it is all up to Nooch.

Another story about Ben’s elevation to #2 in Dallas. JMU is no longer being referred to as “little James Madison” but as “FCS Power”...

That approach isn't very helpful for the DMV dukes that have a Washington Post subscription.

I think best approach is to to add a quick 1-2 sentence summary / copy & paste when linking anything, but the worst approach is to just not link an article from a nationwide newspaper.

RE: #ProDukes
From the Dallas News article:
“I’m not as concerned about Andy Dalton’s preparation as much as I’m focused on Ben DiNucci’s,” McCarthy said. "We have to make sure that the No. 2, that’s where the biggest preparation and change is going on.

“Andy has a lot of experience being in the No. 1 chair. I think this will be a seamless transition for him, to get ready and prepare and for us to get the whole offense prepared with him in front. But we need to make sure Ben advances in his new role.”

“Most important thing is he’s getting more live reps, and that’s what every quarterback in this league needs,” McCarthy said. "He’s not only getting reps to prepare himself for the game plan against the Arizona Cardinals defense, but he’s also had to emulate Kyler, particularly in some of the drop-back stuff. His opportunity is right in front of him, so he’s got to make sure he’s ready.”

The Washington Post article just gives a quick recap of Ben's recruitment out of HS, coming to JMU, and some quotes from Cignetti. We all know about the fateful elevator pitch Ben used in Frisco on McCarthy, which is talked about as well. Then the quote from McCarthy about Ben's preparation.

It seems to me Jimmy has played very respectively the last couple weeks when he was in the game. Didn't notice him majorly blowing a coverage, as I did other Washington DBs. Also he made a nice backside play to tackle the NY QB (after about a 50 yd run 03-lmfao) Reminded me of a Darrell Green tackle on Tony Dorsett.

Hopefully Andy for some reason he isn't able to play all four quarters tonight. I'd like to see Ben play, although I don't think he's a NFL caliber QB.

If Tim Boyle can be a QB in the NFL, so can Ben.
