I am liking our odds of being able to at least compete if not win this game. Looking forward to it.

Someone tell me what to expect out of VMI; Offense style, impact players, etc.

Pass heavy. QB was preseason first team all conference. Will have a chance to beat them if we can get pressure on the QB and if we play good in the secondary.

Hopefully Nasir Player will be back and healthy. He made a huge difference in the 2 wins this year.

Cannot wait to hear Coach T. on the radio tonight at 6:00! I think the Bucs can be competitive in this game although we will be under dogged. I hope Nasir is back also.

Bucs need a punter. Punting was bad last year and no better this year. Defense has to work with a short field time and time again. Have an open tryout, do something to better the punting. nearly ever punt is short and end over end, no spirals. The Bucs need to be able to flip the field and you can't flip it with 30-35 yd punts. Good punting puts the other team in the hole, bad punting puts the Bucs in the hole.

Punting the first two games was outstanding... He pinned it inside the 10 7 times the first two games.

RE: Official Game Thread: VMI
Our punter is good at the short kicks- downing them inside the 20. He doesn't have much of a leg for when he needs to kick it deep, which has been the case more the last two games when our offense can't move the ball.

Except for the field goal kicking unit, I worry about all of the special teams. I think I read where we are averaging 0 yards per punt return, and I hold my breath every time we have to kick off that the other team won't bring it all the way for a touchdown.

VMI is probably my favorite place to go in the SoCon. Looking forward to Saturday. Hopefully the rain holds off.

Just love the feel of the town/campus. Football facility is a little lacking, but I like their basketball arena. A little dated, but works great for them. I also enjoy Western.

I'll be watching from home this time. Too much travel in September for us. I'm going to try and stay home quite a bit this weekend.

But I'll still be decked out in Blue and Gold. (I wore ETSU colors and logos last weekend in Chattanooga. My husband said I was pushing my luck. LOL)

Great college town (Washington & Lee & VMI) with a lot of history and a college town atmosphere. History points like Lee Chapel, Stonewall Jackson House, nice museums on both campuses plus the Marshall Library/Museum. Check out the Maury River at Jordan's Point where you can see the terminus for the old Chesapeake and Kanawha Canal which was intended to connect the Atlantic Ocean to the Ohio River. Best of all get in the visitor stands (top row so you can look over the back towards the campus) to watch the parade of Keydets as they march down the hill from Campus to the stadium. It is quite a sight to behold especially on a Fall Day with House Mountain in the background. Their Keydet military band with the bagpipes and kilts in front makes quite a show.

Very winnable game. Truthfully a must win based on performances at Kennesaw State and against Western Carolina. Win number three comes on Saturday.
Bucs 38
VMI - 28
