For App the players expect to win every game remaining (only SBC games remain). With Troy, GS, and ULL on the road that is a tall order. I think 7-1 is doable, but wouldn't be surprised by a 6-2 finish either.

Pass defense is still fairly questionable. Kicking as well.

Young WRs stepped up last week, just not the ones I expected.

Evans is going to be special, get used to see him and Moore the next few years, and our offensive line may just be the best in the conference (no injuries please!).
Have to think Watts was sending a message to some of the scholarship WR's Saturday. Beginning to realize how important Doug Middleton was to our secondary. Gray has all the physical tools, but have to wonder if he has what it takes to be the QB of tge defense. All defenses have their weaknesses and Troy exposed ours last year. Woody likes to keep everything in front and stop people inside the 30. Hopefully he can make adjustments to the hurry up and quick tosses to the WR's. Our group of LB's are the best in the conference. PAT's & FG's still a work in progress. Very pleased with OL. People talk about Collins & Gossett, but imo Vic Johnson might be the best NFL OL prospect we've ever had. That guy can flat out play. RB position is in great hands into the foreseeable future. Taylor isn't flashy, but he's cool under pressure and just wins games. That's all you can ask for.

Want to know what that message was? These guys fit our offense and can catch the ball. There isn't a message he needs to send any more than the players themselves can send.

Gray doesn't have it all mentally. He is more of an enforcer and seems to be reactionary versus pro-active in coverage, which is fine most of the time, however it also results in him being caught out of position.

All in all, App is right where most would've though, 2-2 going into conference play; Averaging 38 PPG, close to 280 rushing yards and 220 passing yards per game against G5 opponents.

The details are where people guessed wrong, however I don't think that Troy even has the offensive skill players that Akron has. I believe Troy has the better running back and quarterback (and coaching), but the threat presented by having a 5-9 160 lb guy next to a 6-3 215 lb guy won't be there.

The message being don't think because you're a scholarship player you're entitled to play. Walk-on's TJ Watkins and Brad Absher are getting snaps while former starter Dante Jones & heralded recruit Mock Adams have played minimal snaps while former starter Ike Lewis is MIA.

I'm no insider but that shouldn't need to be stated explicitly or implicitly. If the guys are playing with a sense of entitlement, which I doubt was the issue, then they should be benched unless that sense of entitlement is also leading to productivity.

The fact of the matter is that the young guys who got to play looked much more prepared and better suited mentally for what App was trying to do in the screen game. I've honestly never seen App run bubble screens to the effect that they did against Akron. Whether that was an Akron thing or an App thing remains to be seen.

You argue the point then make a case for it. I give up... 03-banghead

I thought TXST would go 3-9. Now that we beat Ohio, I'll say 4-8.

You see yourself beating App and keeping up with GT based on what exactly? Beating USA, ULM or Savannah State? 03-lmfao

The two app games I've watched, ya'll haven't been that impressive. WMU would smoke anyone in the sun belt, and we shot ourselves in the foot on 3 plays, and basically gifted them 21 points. Apps passing game isn't as good as WMU, and won't pose as big of a problem.

GT just sucks this year.

If GT sucks we must be horrible they are 3-1 two P5 wins and with a top five loss.

We are 3-1 squeaking by to a non top 100 team and loss to a non top 25 team.

I cant believe any GS fan is talking **** this week, of all weeks. Troy is the leader right now with App close behind. GS is lucky ArkSt is down and has several games to close the gap before the App and Troy games.

After giving us sh*t for talking about our "moral victories" the last two years and now they are proclaiming to be conference favorites for what? Not losing to Clemson and Tennessee as bad as y'all were suppose to?? Give me a break... 03-lmfao

We beat the C-USA West Division Champ and clobbered an improved NMSU team. You have done nothing of the sort. Those aren't moral victories. Troy is in no way a lock to win the SBC, but our last two games are certainly better than what you've put on the field.

Let's put to bed the idea that Troy fans believe we're going to run roughshod over the conference. Nobody is saying that, and nobody will. Don't be like the one or two Cajun fans that are always trying to stir up drama that isn't there.

Except that it wasn't a Cajun fan who said what you are complaining about.

This time. There are a few fans here, not just Cajun, that think a missile launch is a nuke drop. I wouldn't be surprised if several wanted Idaho to beat Troy this weekend so we can be "taken down a notch". They just don't like winners.

Except that's not what you said. I've grown weary of Cajun fans being used as everyone's favorite punching bag. It's part of the reason why my post count has gone down. I just don't feel playing defense 100% of the time here.

FWIW, I don't think you'll have any problems with Idaho.

I don't care about who needs to be "taken down a notch."

I only look at conference wins and losses as to how they help my team.

Period.

Which is why I've become a huge USA fan (and hopefully soon an NM State fan)

What I said was one or two Cajun fans. I was very specific to point out that it wasn't the entire fanbase. For the record, those posters have a reputation for stirring the pot. The Cajun fanbase has been great this year, and you should post more often.

I hope you're right about Idaho. They are losing their games by 21 points, and we're winning by 21 points. I thought the line was a little low, but that's why we play the games. Idaho is coming off a great win and we're celebrating a big one and flying into Moscow. Intangibles could play a big role in this game. Hoping for a Troy win.

Good luck to Louisiana in SBC play.

RE: Adjusted Season Expectations
All I know is Troy scares the hell out of me, and if they were to beat us, it wouldn't be an upset. I could see us possibly losing to GaSo, the Cajuns, or S.Alabama, but if anyone else were to beat us, it would surprise me.
