Suck it up. It's one game/season. No team in the G5 can sustain success over a long period. Be glad you have a program.
We just lost to an Instate team for the first time since World War II. We're not going to be glad about anything thank you very much.

RE: Astate vs UCA thread
Sooner or later, all those head coaching changes was bound to catch up with Ark St. Recruiting usually takes a tremendous hit anytime there's a coaching change. Plugging holes with transfers and juco's can sometimes works out ok, but more often than not, it doesn't. There is no chemistry on the Red Wolves team this year, but at least you guys have a decent excuse.
In Holtz's fourth as head coach at La Tech, we're starting three graduate transfers on defense and we're struggling to stop anyone's passing game. It appears that our luck with transfers ran out on us this year as well.

RE: Astate vs UCA thread
Oh come on now. We had our worse loss since 2003, in front of a record crowd, on ESPNU. Did wonders for the conference's reputation.
You're welcome.

RE: Astate vs UCA thread
From a third party view, I would have preferred the conference take the FCS loss to Nicholls St. However, as a Jag, I'm really glad we pulled that one out and left the FCS loss for someone else.
Tough loss, now maybe you understand why ArKansas refuses to schedule you.

Wow, what a disappointing start for sure. It might be a bit dumb to ask this but what the heck is going on? I keep harping on Buster and his suckiness but I can't believe stAte looks this ... Bad ? Our McNeese loss a couple years ago hurt a lot so I understand how angry and depressed you all are feeling right now probably even more so against an in state team

Faulkner sucks, but it's not just him. When your offensive line is so bad that an FCS team holds you to 50 yards rushing on 34 attempts, changing the OC won't help things.
Anderson foolishly thought he could get a P5 job after this season and loaded up with JUCO players and FBS transfers. Sat in press conferences talking about how we were going to go 12-0 and be the best G5 team in the country. Instead, we have a team that has stopped playing together, looks like they don't care out there, and still has major communication issues at key spots
This falls on his shoulders, and if it gets as bad as it looks like it will, Anderson will be on the unemployment line begging for an OC job at a P5 school.

I see. Thanks for that info. Clearly, having a coach who is dedicated to your program has to be at least a top priority if not priority one. With one foot out the door it seems pretty easy to play with total collapse as we saw.

stAte got the money to buy that staff out? Didn't someone just sign a new contract?
Not to mention the millions spent in the last year on football facilities.
I bet Anderson is there in 2017 even if u go 0-12

Depends how eager fans are to buy him out. We couldn't afford Brady's 450K buyout last year, but that was also an unusual situation because he only had a year left on his contract, and our fan base has notoriously never cared about basketball, so no donor was willing to help with the buyout.
If we go turn around enough to go say 4-8, he'll probably survive. If we go 0-12, it's going to be really hard to keep him with 3 years left on his deal. Most anyone in our Atheltic Department knows part of the reason that our basketball program because such a doormat is because an old AD elected to give a contract extension to a struggling coach years back rather than buying him out.
I think the money is there...if we need it to be. We make way too much money on football for screwing this up to be an option.

I don't think you understand the consequences in Arkansas of losing to an instate school in football that's seen as beneath you.
It's a different world here than Texas with it's twelve million football playing programs.
