You really can't afford screw ups in coaching situations at the G5 level of football. We saw Southern Miss go from Top G5 program to 0-12 in a season a few years ago. In the Sun Belt, we watched Troy go from perennial title winner to doormat faster than you could say Larry Blakeney.
The good schools recognize their errors, and correct them. The bad schools leave the errors in place because they can't afford to do anything about it, or don't care to. We'll see what type of school we are at the end of the year.
As far as I'm concerned, Blake Anderson has 8 games to save his job.

But Blakeney was the one to take them to the top and to the bottom. Not a bad coaching decision, just a coach that lost his mojo.

Suck it up. It's one game/season. No team in the G5 can sustain success over a long period. Be glad you have a program.
We just lost to an Instate team for the first time since World War II. We're not going to be glad about anything thank you very much.
Perspective...seriously. Yes it sucks, but it isn't the end of the world.
I don't think you understand the consequences in Arkansas of losing to an instate school in football that's seen as beneath you.
It's a different world here than Texas with it's twelve million football playing programs.
UTA opened the 1985 season with a loss to Angelo St, an in-state DII team. Attendance fell to its second worst average in eight years. That was a primary reason for the disbandment. I get it more than anyone else.
Y'all ain't there. It a sucky loss, but not one that is insurmountable. No solid recruit will choose UCA over stAte cause of this game. No scheduling issues will arise cause of this game. No program will be lost cause of this game.
Momentum will be lost and attendance will decline, but that's the nature of college athletics. North Texas was once the crown jewel of the SBC. Troy dominated then has put up five non-winning seasons in a row. USM put up 12 wins, followed by 2 losses then two more losing seasons. The MAC has a roller coaster of teams at the top of its game, with only EMU seemingly never able to get there.
Every team thinks the same when they lose a game like this. Yet almost every team has lost to an FCS school, most in-state at some point. It sucks, I get it. But in a few short months, only the diehards will be stressing over it, and no where near the current level.

stAte better prey they win 6.
Prey as in pray.
State has enough talent to simply win at least 4 games in the belt, possibly more. The question is something that no one is asking: "What in the f*** is going on with the coaching staff?"
At some point, people are going to have to recognize that this coaching staff isn't doing their job. From game planning to game management, they are sucking it up this year. Last year they had help from Fredi Knighten and an opportunistic defense.
First half over every game: S*** the bed, hope we don't get too far down because I don't want to watch film during the week
Second Half: Alright, Fredi, run left, guys, block left, McKissic, go right and take the sweep, defense, just follow a guy around and try to get the ball back.

TD-TD-TD-TD-TD-TD Arkansas State
It's no coincidence that our two bad years offensively in the last 6 seasons came in years when we did not have a running QB.
Losing the strength of the read option has really hurt us this year.

Tough loss, now maybe you understand why ArKansas refuses to schedule you.
We're taking the opposite approach to it though. Immediately after the game Mohajir went to UCA and said he wants another game to be scheduled as soon as humanly possible.
We're not going to duck this series. We'll keep playing them.

If your plan on offense was more than throw 2 passes in the dirt and then one over someone's head and punt, you might have a chance. maybe change who's in charge of recruiting and go for players in the key positions that can get the job done. since my school doesnt field a team I try to watch as many sbc games as I can and root for our schools but some are just bad. with literally thousands of players coming out of high school every year how do so many that cant run, tackle, or throw the ball to one of their own guys get scholarships.

If you are referring to stAte then you must have S.I. on ignore.

Brand new QB learning the ropes, and a bunch of receivers who have yet to get on the same page. We still threw for over 400 yards on UCA...and we're going to have to pass if we have any intention of winning a game this year. Our running game is really bad.
