RE: Soccer ReConfig
I only started this thread. Because it is no longer conjecture. I think the changes are going to be done with an eye towards preserving the look with brick walls and such. The only thing I don't like is aluminum seating on the field side of the wall. On the other issue the redesigned shoe will flip flop the upper seating with the mid level vomitoriums and move the entrance to the rear top.

I've noticed the same.
My only guess is those people hadn't been to the campus since they left school in the 80 and 90s. They went and tried out the soccer game and now realize the area is not as bad as they think.

I come from the burbs of West Chester for FOOTBALL. But your point is spot on.
Yes the phoo phoo folks from West Chester, Mason, Sycamore, Hyde Park, etc. think they are being worldly and inclusive with phrases like The Pitch, The Bailey, Lads and Kits. Makes me want to hurl on their Sushi.

I'm more scared to go to West Chester. Too many drug addicts.

I find the lingo to be quite pretentious... and I coach youth soccer and believe there are a lot of positives to the success the club has been having. I moved back to Cincinnati from Columbus three years ago so it is has been a while, but I don't remember the Columbus Crew being so adamant about using the Euro vernacular in all their broadcasts, marketing material, etc.
As to West Chester, it is has always struck me as more of an OSU and to a lesser extent Miami University town (a lot of Miami grads who bleed Scarlet and Gray). Ditto with Hamilton and Fairfield too. I don't think there is much UC will be able to do to win over a large market share of Butler County.

On a positive note, I came across Google reviews of Nippert last week, and it seemed to me that there were a number of recent reviews and almost all were positive, and most were soccer related

Ha...you're the best. No real information, no real counter. Just accepting your statement as fact. When I bumped all the FCC threads and various quotes from them a few months ago you were pretty silent when it showed the opposite of what you claim. I'm not digging through those again just to prove you wrong one more time.
Silence wasn't the issue. I wasn't looking.
I've intentionally avoided direct soccer talk until something material arose. Something material arose. Otherwise, I've not paid attention to the otherworldly cluster that resides in your imagination. If you posted something in the soccer thread, I am unaware.
So it appears the argument you're having is with yourself.

So, we should kick him out of the country? Publicly ostracize him? Have a Capitalist-Centric Supporters Group? Hate soccer more?
Awaiting your instructions.......

Not sure what this has to do with anything? It sounds like a personal attack on someone who could be a poster on this board which if I remember our READ THIS NOW thread is not allowed.

No, not a Marxist here, Mr. McCarthy - just someone confused by non sequiturs.

Let's keep the thread on topic: we're arguing about soccer in Nippert.

Yeah, just what we need to focus on in the middle of football season.

If it makes you any happier, I'd rather not have that argument either. I've rather enjoyed the relative calm of the summer months when there wasn't much new soccer-wise to discuss.
I did finally make my first visit to an MLS game. Unfortunately, a rainstorm delayed the game by an hour and a half, and the rain continued at least a half an hour into game time. So Mapfre Stadium (Columbus) was 1/4 full at best. Probably not the best environment to assess major league soccer, so I'll withhold judgement.
I will say that Mapfre is much like Columbus - cold, sterile, functional...but no charm.
