New Conference core of: Texas, Tech, TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma St., WVU, plus Houston + BYU.

So, there are the requisite 8 votes to dissolve the conference.

Are BYU fans actually buying this crap?

No. Just responding to earlier posts in the thread to show a way that it *could* happen.

Texas et al are going to give up Media Rights for 10 years, leave all the NCAA credits, pay exit fees in order to form a conference that is WORSE than what they are leaving in order to affiliate with a University that is inflexible, bigoted, refuses to compromise on anything (like Sunday games), and really doesn't move the needle much.

The only thing missing from this proposal is Arkansas Tech and West Texas A&M.

Best.Troll.Ever.

Bawhahaha....
BYU fans make the best troll posts on here. Always some dream about a power conference breaking up and a new power conference being formed with BYU of course being included in said conference. There are also some "facts" cited that are bizzare interpretations of tweets based on Tom Holmoe comments about "something in the works for BYU"...Made up BS, but entertaining.
Cheers!

Isn't that a pill to abort any unwanted baby? That conference needs a couple of jars of those pills

The B12 is not losing anyone, nor breaking up until the end of this TV deal. 2 years out you could see a TEX or OLK announcing they are leaving at the end of the GOR and refusing to sign extension. The only question on table right now is, does B12 stand pat or expand by 2 or 4.

I think 1/2 of you live in some alternate universe.

Saying that they will not expand does not = breaking up. It simply means they will stay leaner until the end the of the GOR. Texas and Oklahoma are not going to sign an extension of the GOR with additions therefore no additions. That was true after the got back to 10, a number of schools requisite to keep their then current TV contract enforced. From the moment Deloss agreed to T.C.U. West Virginia was destined to be on an island.

Nothing has changed.

Quote:Long conversation w/ a #BYU source who said there is a "plan b" should #BIGXII expansion "go south"
Working to confirm a few things but #BYU has had discussions with other #BIGXII members about alternate plans should expansion fail
My feeling from talking to people today is #BYU & several CURRENT members of the #BIGXII have been working on plans outside of the #BIGXII
Tom Holmoe is a master relationship builder and I've been told repeatedly his singular goal is to position #BYU ...
...to compete for championships in major sports on an annual basis. The collapse of #BIGXII expansion has always been an possibility...
...I am told #Holmoe has been telling #BYU Leadership for sometime that alternative plans were needed.
Text just now: "Texas + other institutions in the state + #Houston & #BYU = a revenue & ratings machine in a super conference world"
"Everyone knows the #BIGXII shld add #Houston and #BYU but can't get along well enough to slice the pie...everyone is watching and waiting"

And so the plot thickens. If the Big 12 remains gridlocked on expansion, perhaps the Texas teams work with a TV network and break off, add some candidates of their choosing that the non-Texas schools won't support (Houston), and then bring in some others who help round out a decent ratings package and leave some of the contrarian schools to fend for themselves being shut out of Texas all together.Fuel To The Fire

ROFL. so what are the rules for kicking someone out of the Big 12 anyway? too funny and no new conference will form as it would be shut out of the playoffs by contract. What a reach this one is
