Yes, this is SBC-related.

I wonder what other Belt schools can point to sports teams that have co-opted their logo in such a way...?

(Don't judge me...some of us just like our amateur Slovenian roller hockey.)

There are at least 2 high schools we've come across who also use it, both in a red/white version. Ironically, we are recruiting a QB from one of them this year.

Overseas all bets are off. I saw a beauty salon in South Korea using the Starbucks logo. All they did was replace the name.

There was an Asian country (I believe China) that used South Alabama videos from our video department. I'm not sure if they used any logos or anything beyond that.

I think I remember back in the 80's or 90's some high schools were using the exact GS logo, and we made that go away through a cease and desist letter or something. Overseas, probably not much you can do about it though.

I have also found the logo used for a local Bahamian Rugby team. I was pretty shocked seeing the jersey with the Chant head being displayed on a wall in a bar in a foreign country.

I have also seen the University of Delware use it, in Royal Blue and Gold for a youth hockey program that uses one of their arenas.

For all the hell we catch regarding our mascot, we very well may be the most imitated mascot in the SBC.

I can't blame people for loving Chauncey.

This may be true. If I were to guess without seeing any evidence one way or another, I would think that GS's probably get used quite a bit. There are lots of Eagles out there, and they have some nice clean logos that it seems like high schools and club teams would love.
