App State maybe, I don't know. 17,691 was in attendance was announced. Not acceptable for a team that beat an SEC team a week ago, IMO.
There is no way we had less than 20k in the stadium. That was one of our largest crowds since MSU.
Apparently some scanners on the east side weren't working. To make matters worse, someone on the USA board even posted a picture of their ticket which was blank without a barcode on it to even be scanned. People were just waived in. I really don't understand what we do. I would have guessed 22,500-23,500.

That's just crazy I have seen you guys complaining about this for years now. It must not be a priority with your AD.

Only way we get USA to fix it is to question if they're skimming the gate proceeds. I don't think they are, but not counting 5k or more each week is a control problem

Season tickets no longer have a bar code on the either. I'm guessing they are just counting those in paid attendance. So does that mean the students weren't counted? I'll be glad when we are in a stadium where we have full control.

Really disappointed in the USA fans who left en masse late third/early fourth.

Well my crystal ball is obviously on the fritz. However, I'm still standing with my pick as South Alabama as the sleeper for the year!
Congrats Eagles. Played a very good game and put yourselves in a good position going into conference play.

We play at a stadium that was busted for paying a janitor 80k a year.

When we went to will call they told us their printer was not working. They gave us handwritten tickets. So there's that.

We're used to it. Like another USA fan said, our attendance is likely undercounted by around 5k per game. Like yet another USA fan said, once we open our OCS we'll have 100% control over the attendance counts, just like at the Mitch were the turnstiles count along with the scanners...I suppose that's just a check & balance type of system.

Definitely at least 20K in the stadium. I thought it was a good crowd, though I was surprised many bolted while the game was still within 2 scores.

RE: Game Thread • Georgia Southern at South Alabama
Had a good time at the game. The offense left a lot of points on the field and penalties killed us. That was easily a game without much more effort that we could have put up 35 instead of 24. I hope our offense gets it together soon.
Second time at Ladd. The staff was so clueless when we drove up at noon...we said where do the visitors park or tailgate and NO ONE had any information for us. Offered them $20 to get in the lot and they said no. My friend even said "they acted like no visitors have ever come to their stadium." We eventually went to the mall, but there was no one there at all either. We just set up in the corner near JCPenney and eventually the shuttle came later in the day. Really disappointed in the atmosphere pregame. That's the only "2 man tailgate" I've ever done....couldn't even find the GSU fans.
The Ladd lot was slammed but we had no way of parking in there or even near there (without being afraid our stuff was going to be stolen). The GoDaddy Bowl was better because they let us in the lot.
The positive was that you could buy unlimited beer, as many as you wanted all the way from kickoff until the last play. Boy was that nice.

1. Both teams made plenty of mistakes and left plenty of points on the field.
2. The staff at Ladd stadium does not know much, nor do they care about your game day enjoyment. You are not alone in your frustrations. As far as getting in the stadium without a parking pass, that's just not gunna happen.
3. The atmosphere is hampered by number 2 above.

So for the next time we come, can I buy any sort of parking deal in advance? Is it USA fans only?

Unfortunately, only season ticket holders and a limited number of students have access to parking passes. Many visitors set up tailgate in the high-school nearby. Ladd stadium is not really friendly to visiting teams fans (or home fans for that matter). Most USA fans would gladly welcome you into their tents however.

I guess I'll try to buy one from a USA fan on your forum, that might be the only way. I'm not sure what else to do. Ha, the high school behind the stadium, near the train tracks. That's where our shuttle dropped us off. We drove by and thought the whole place was shut down, not a single car was there at 12:00pm. Thanks for the info. I did like the "Jag Nation" signs or whatever throughout the lot...the tailgating I saw there was MUCH bigger than what I saw at App St, Troy, and GAST.

South Alabama is a good team and improving quickly.
I thought a big difference in the game, especially the second half, was dropped passes. I think if they made a few catches to move the chain the score would have been much different.
Hope you win out the rest of the season.

RE: Game Thread • Georgia Southern at South Alabama
I mentioned earlier, but I think our defense definitely has the potential to be the best defense we have ever fielded. Our secondary is young but they looked pretty solid. Our dline and LB corp seem to be as good as advertised. This group has the potential to be the best defense in the conference if the secondary continues to play well and if everybody improves just a little each game. USA is going to be pretty solid this year. I'll be pulling for you guys from here on out.
