Realignment coming soon?
I know nothing about the source. May be full of **** like the rest, but found this on the CUSA board.

Could we be screwed again?

Quote:In private, Rice officials have expressed a desire to join the Mountain West, which likely would find Rice attractive. The school is one of the nation’s elite academic institutions and is in Houston, the nation’s 10th-largest TV market. UTEP has great facilities, good fan support and great basketball tradition....

The Big 12 likely will decide in October if it will add two or four schools. Media reports indicate that Houston and Cincinnati from the American Athletic Conference are most likely to join.

I hate this next quote. When they mention we haven't beat an SEC team since 2000, they never mention the teams we play are mostly the top SEC teams Alabama, LSU, UT, Florida. MsState just caught us in our worst 3 year history, while they had a star QB.

Quote:Southern Miss claimed a rare C-USA victory over the SEC when the Golden Eagles rallied from a 35-10 deficit to shock Kentucky, 44-35, last weekend in Jay Hopson’s coaching debut. It was the first win over an SEC team for Southern Miss since 2000.

I dunno but we'll see. If Rice leaves for the MW, I hope we set up 3 game series win them in baseball every year.

That's fair - I want out regardless of if they get out. It would be great if they went to the MW and we went to the AAC, but we keep the baseball series with them.
