The I-75 Rivalry between the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University just got a little more...bobbly?

Coca-Cola is sponsoring an I-75 Rivalry Bobblehead promotion in which customers can get a free Rocky the Rocket or Freddie the Falcon bobblehead with the purchase of any four 20-ounce Coke products. The bobbleheads will be available at area Kroger stores and other area retail outlets from now until the big game between the Rockets and the Falcons at the Glass Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 15 (while supplies last).

A special event to kick off the I-75 Rivalry Bobblehead promotion will be held at the Kroger on Carronade Drive in Perrysburg on Tuesday, Sept. 6 from 5:30-6:00 p.m. The mascots from both schools will be there to unveil their own bobbleheads. Also on hand will the schools' bands, cheerleaders, dance teams, spirit groups and athletic department representatives, as well as representatives from Coca-Cola and Kroger.

"We are very excited to be part of this promotion to promote the I-75 Rivalry," said deputy director of athletics Dave Nottke. "We would like to thank Coca-Cola and Kroger for supporting this great series."

UT also announced two upcoming promotions. A pep rally promoting the Rockets' first home football game vs. Maine will be held in the Centennial Mall on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Also, there will be a moving pep rally Friday night at downtown area restaurants and bars. The UT pep band and cheerleaders will bring the spirit downtown beginning at 9:00 p.m.

Toledo (1-0) hosts Maine on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Glass Bowl at 7:00 p.m. Ticket are available at the UT Athletic Ticket Office in Savage Arena, online or by calling 419-530-GOLD (4653).

I just stopped by the Kroger at Bancroft & Holland-Sylvania, and...no bobblehead promotion yet.

I got my bobbleheads today!

The only one that had them was Perrysburg after driving down from Lenawee County. They were picked over and all they had was BG. Greeeeat, really wanted a Rocky.

If anyone has an extra Rocky bobblehead or can tell me another place that they have them, please let me know.

I drove down from Adrian and went to all the Toledo and Slyvania Krogers but the only one who knew about them was the Perrysburg one. Al the had left was BGSU ones, so I got two Falcon ones after such a search. They are nice bobbleheads but would love a Rocky one.

A Kroger employee told me that they had Falcons left as they brought three times as many Falcon to Rocky bobbleheads.

The online article states that area Krogers and other businesses were to have them but that has not proved to be the case. I have Facebook'd and tweeted the University for clarification but no reply.

So if anyone knows or has an extra, please let me know. I would pay you.

Kroger at Miracle Mile replenished their Rocky bobbleheads last night. They never ran out of the Freddie's as far as I know
