Thank you for posting, LES. Being where I am, I have limited access to any games......let alone USM.
Some observations
The Good:
Conditioning
The fact that we physically dominated them
Whatever the hell happened at halftime
Ito Smith and his versatility.....what a player he is for us.
George Payne steamrolling a UK defender....that was beautiful. First thought that came to mind was "SEC Pad Level" lol
Isaiah Jones....wow, you can tell this guy has some raw talent. Once he develops a report with Nick.....could be quite a tandem.
Generally well-disciplined
Ability to get a pass rush while bringing only 3 or 4 guys
Dylan Bradley and Xavier Thigpen were outstanding
Parker Shaunfield
The team's attitude
Corch Dawson relentlessly sticking with the running game down the stretch.
For Kentucky.....Garrett Williams and Courtney Love are outstanding football players. Their nosetackle shouldn't see another play this season though. He was awful. Cameron Tom abused that guy all night long.
The Bad:
Turnovers
Kickoffs and kick coverage could've been better
Mental lapses in the secondary (this will be the toughest to rectify)
Nick made really bad decisions throughout the game. He even got away with a few really bad ones in the second half. It was really unlike him. He forced way too many throws and also missed a few wide open reads. He will watch the tape and make notes I'm sure. That being said, he also had some very nice passes and gutted out a couple TD runs too.
I still don't know about the linebacker corps, though I thought Elijah Parker looked good.
Some inconsistency from the offensive line, especially in pass protection, but overall they played a decent game. Especially in the 3rd and 4th.

leading with the negative (it's the internutz, right?)
Nick had the jitters with his reads....hopefully, they'll figure it out after watching film....
and (to ad nauseam)....how we can't find a kicker that can boot it out of the EZ is beyond my ability in comprehension...
-----------------
More Ito worked and Payne was administered.....
...and I liked watching Nick being called upon to use his feet more....
____________
sans the expected jitters, I grade A to all parties involved.....hopefully as the season develops, all mistakes will evolve to the 'minimum' and the rest of the country will remember how talent can be developed at southern miss....
