Sorry for the new thread. Just wanted to say this.
There is no conspiracy. This is not the end of the world. I truly believe we were much closer this time than when we first tried to join the Big East (this top 11 list is nonsense). I'm not talking about the American. I'm talking about when they first added teams before everything fell apart and they pretty much had to add us. The university has made great strides since 2012 in all areas, and they have more things scheduled. The truth is that Memphis, and by association, the University will always be fighting the battle against negative perception regardless of facts. The University just needs to keep going with the trajectory they are on. People can either pout and complain that it's just not fair, or you can support the University and make it so attractive that they are the "No brainier" candidate the next time conference moves happen. That's what Louisville did. Keep winning on the Court and on the Field. Win in the classroom. Just keep winning. If we keep doing that it will happen eventually.

We are making strides in admissions, capital projects, research, etc. I give credit to Dr. Rudd and generous benefactors for that.
The athletic department has run our cash cow (basketball) into the ground with leaving Pastner as coach 2 years too long (I know for a fact he was told to hire X and O "hammer" coach and refused), failure to make game days even remotely fun like the Grizz do (my grandson will attest to this) and taking an attitude of we are doing you a favor by giving you good seats no matter how much you pay (if you are under $25K). Don't bring up butthurt crap-I don't even care. i could buy better seats on street far cheaper than i was paying university with required donation and season ticket cost.
Now we are paying Tubby $3 million a year which is on par with some great coaches; does he still have drive to get us to the top? Results so far in recruiting and public relations (a big part of this job that Cal hated) say no.
