if AF, CSU, Tulane make it..
One last post on this:
I could truly 'understand' if UC/BYU make it and USF/UCF as well.
Let's face it about Memphis: we have a major, major perception problem and our city/MSA is not really growing. We have been stuck at around 22k students for a LONG TIME.
USF/UCF are growing, Florida is growing, Orlando and Tampa/St.Pete are growing tremendously well. I could understand that thought process of trying to hitch a ride on that growth.
On the other hand, the sheer fact that Tulane, SMU, Air Force, Colorado State are on the short list tells me something is really underfoot. UH doesn't add much either. But, again, Houston is growing and Memphis is not.

Growth doesn't equate to success on field or in academics. If so, Houston and UNLV would be in SEC.

I know, I know, but kicking Memphis out at this point, with the candidates that are still in the mix, makes absolutely no sense to me. Not getting in does make sense. But why, with these candidates,was it so important to kick us out? There is something else going on.
