yeah I'm sure.

but at least you aren't a Cowboys fan. That one is going to hurt for even longer.....

It does hurt, but I won't say it will be for long. We'll see where we are in January.

Cole Beasley doesn't drop passes often, but when he does, he makes sure they are important. Should've had a TD to open the game but he drops an easy catch. Sure he had to jump for it but it was in stride and hit both hands. I can't stand that little booger.

Defense gave up the big plays when it mattered. Offense didn't make plays and settled for field goals instead of touchdowns.

Wasn't pretty, but psychologically it was an enormous win for us. I don't have a great read on this team yet, but I'm sure I'll know more in a few weeks. It's clear that the secondary and the WR receiving corps are very good. The O-line played a solid game, but Dallas has a pretty weak D-line, so again it's hard to judge

If you're a Cowboys fan I don't know how you come away as anything but elated. Your rookie QB was driving late for a chance to win if not for a WR going diva. Prescott is more cable than the 5 signals callers Dallas started last year.

I'm not sure elated is the best word, but I get your point. Let's not forget the Giants had the worst defense last season and the Cowboys have the best O-line.

And i don't know what you mean by diva. He looked at the sideline and saw DRC standing right there, which probably triggered some muscle memory that led him to try to avoid a would be tackler. He made a mistake, but I don't think it had anything to do with him being a diva, whatever that even means

THe Skins had so many opportunities to get ahead in this game and they couldn't get out of their own way.

RE: NFL 2016 Season Thread
updating for 1st game:
last year/this year- for week 1
90+ 4/2
80-90 6/6
70-80 1/3
60-70 2/7
50-60 6/5
40-50 4/5
30-40 3/1
20-30 3/1
0-20 3/0

Good games- 70-100 11/11
avg games- 30-70 15/18
bad games- 0-30 6/1

So this week had as many good games as last year- but no where near as many bad games(tonight's 2nd game not withstanding). We may end up with only 2 really bad games- RG3 and Case Keenum.

He was thinking about making the yard to gain, getting up and doing a little 1st down move instead of maintaining situational awareness and just getting OOB.

yeah i doubt he was thinking of "making a little 1st down move." It was a dumb mistake, but I hesitate to say it was due to him trying to show out

Anemic on offense gives people suffering from the disorder a bad name.

Then again, how does this game affect my thoughts on how the 49rs do @ Carolina next week.

Seems like there were a lot of great games this week, just going by scores. Last night more of a flop though.

RE: NFL 2016 Season Thread
The last 16 Super Bowl participants from the AFC have been:

Broncos
Pats
Broncos
Ravens

Pats
Steelers
Colts
Steelers

Pats
Colts
Steelers
Pats

Pats
Raiders
Pats
Ravens

Clearly we see a cartel in the AFC of the Pats, Steelers, and Colts/Broncos -- which is due to the play of Brady, Big Ben, and Manning.

Well, Manning is retired. Brady is 39. Big Ben is "only" 34. Who are the next cadre of young QB's that will uphold that AFC cartel??

They are hoping for Luck, Bortles, Smith and possibly Carr to carry on the torch.

Well, Flacco and Dalton are decent too.

But what Manning, Brady, and Big Ben have done I think is unprecedented. Tough act to follow!

Damn, Flacco does have a ring and Dalton has Cinci going in the right direction...just need that playoff win.

Giants offense total garbage, but the defense comes through to deliver the win. Redskins with a bad loss at home to the Cowboys, setting up an enormous game with the Giants next weekend. If the Redskins lose they'll be 0-3 with two division losses.

Some sports talk show host said the Redskins seasons is "literally" on the line next weekend. I think that's more than a tad hyperbolic, but there's no doubt this is a hugely important game for them. If they win they'll be in good shape with 4 winnable games against the Browns, Ravens, Eagles and Lions coming up. If they lose they'll be 0-3 (2 losses vs division teams), and they'll almost have to win all 4 of those games.

Conversely, while the Giants are in good shape, they could really use a victory as their upcoming schedule is: Vikings, Packers, Ravens, Rams, Eagles, Bengals. If they beat the Skins and split those 6, they'll be a comfortable 6-3 going into games with the Bears and Browns.
