Men's soccer 2-0 with two 2-0 wins at Marshall and Dayton. Outshot Marshall 10-0 and Dayton 15-5. Not sure about the strength of those teams but pretty impressive on the road.

Expect big things this year from WMU futball, Persrod.

We were good last year too. May be a very exiting soccer year. Only Akron picked higher, and Akron is #2 in the entire nation. Last season we started very hot too, and were fantastic defensively. I am looking forward to following the team.

Good for the soccer team!

Too bad the soccer facility is at the engineering campus. Too far away from main campus for anyone to get to. Beautiful facility, however.

Very impressive last year and should be more of the same. I wonder if our schedule affords us the opportunity to get in the at large conversation. Akron would be a huge win but beating them away is a tough ask.

I agree about the soccer field. Soccer is one of those events that, if it is close and convenient, and if the team is doing well, students will stop by and check it out. But being at the Engineering Campus, not so much.

Akron now #1 in the nation. WMU gets 5 votes.

Interesting that the team that started out as #1, Stanford, is 0-2 to start the season.

206 schools in Division 1 soccer. Impressive start by WMU. This seems like a sport that we could actually win a National Title in.

If we do, I hope men's soccer fares better than Men's cross country did. WMU won back to back cross country national championships so 10 years later we cut the program entirely (Title IX victim).

Now at 4-0 but oddly lost all their poll votes. Akron drops to 9th after getting blowtorched by UCLA and Buffalo grabs 20 votes.

Buffalo has a good coach.

There were some real issues in that program when Riddle was here. There was a reason he left when he did. We got lucky.

I don't know if anyone saw it, but the women's team is doing pretty good too.

Broncos run their record to 7-1-0 now (best start in school history) after beating Michigan on the road 1-0.

Michigan isn't good this year (still winless) but always nice to beat them nonetheless.
