RE: The Carolina Way Part Deux
I really wish someone would ask Larry Fedora to explain the line of thought that this wouldn't blow up in his face. I mean if it were two or three years down the road after he had worked in the background in the NFL like Jim Leavitt did I could understand it but just a year removed from some pretty serious accusations? In a day and age when colleges and university are under greater scrutiny in how they deal with the health and welfare of student-athletes? You don't have to be a public relations expert to know there was no way that this was going to end well. Then to outright lie and say Beckman didn't have direct dealings with players then to have a picture come out the very next day showing him working with a player at practice? You have to question the intelligence of Fedora and the folks above him that approved him filling the position in this way.

And the Wal-mart UNC fans still say it's just a witch hunt...

Quote:I suspect a photo tweeted Thursday by Raleigh News & Observer columnist Luke DeCock ultimately ended Beckman's stay in Carolina blue. The picture showed Beckman coaching a North Carolina player. In other words, it showed the exact thingNCAA rules prohibit a volunteer football coach from doing, and the exact opposite of Fedora's claim that Beckman wouldn't interact with players.

Larry spent most of the spring and early summer speaking and helping raise money for FCA.
His friend Beckman need help in rebuilding his life.
What I see; is that Larry was just living out his faith. Persecution is no stranger to a believer.

Was Larry also living out his faith when he lied about Beckman not actually coaching players in person and being one-on-one with players? I am pretty sure the Bible makes it clear you should not lie.

Got to hand it to Fedora. He's done surprisingly well with the trainwreck going on around him.
