Dandydon.com: "In other football news, I am hearing that LSU and Tulane might renew their rivalry now that the NCAA has approved the 12 game season. The report I heard is far from being official, but from a very good source. "

I may be wrong, but doesn't LSU still owe Tulane a game to be played at the dome?

I think it might be a good idea to re-start the rivalry. I think Tulane should provide LSU with the same number of tickets to games in the dome that LSU provides for Tulane when playing in BR. The gate might be scaled temporarily to account for obvious reasons. But that scaling of the gate for LSU should not be a permenant gesture.

I guess for the older fans this game has meaning. Maybe 25 years ago people were more civil at sporting events, too.

I don't like LSU fans in general. I don't enjoy being anywhere around them. Other than the $$$ I really don't see the appeal this game. It would be fine with me if we never played them again in any sport, though.

That's one of the main ingredients for a great rivalry. It's so satisfying to beat those people.

I don't know how old you are, but if you've never experienced beating them 48-7, you should try it sometime. And having their fans accuse Tulane of running up the score because we faked a field goal late in the game. Too funny. LSU fans accusing Tulane of running up the score. And then coming back the very next year and beating their Orange Bowl-bound team in Tiger Stadium in a game they dubbed the "Revenge Bowl." Then, to top it all off, in the same year, soundly beating them in a sold out Maravich Assembly Center in the NIT. Oh, man. Please, do you think anything other than going undefeated or winning a national championship can top that as a memory in Tulane sports history?

There are not too many people that take a liking to the LSU fans. IMO, however the gridiron series with LSU should be re-instated asap. The good for both teams, the state, and college foortball in general.
