Interesting that they mention one reason for an ISU upset over Baylor is that Baylor has a new head coach but fail to mention that ISU has a new head coach.

I do not know what to make of those upset predictions. They have Ohio beating Toledo.

Ohio hasn't beaten Toledo since 1988 so they are certainly due for a win. However, I suspect that the only way Toledo loses this game is if the Rockets feel that this is the only game standing between them and a MACC game at Ford Field, and this game is way too early to have them worrying about that with NIU and WMU still ahead.

Anyway hopefully the Rockets un-natural fear of playing for a championship at Ford Field and their willingness to do whatever it takes to avoid playing the game vacated Toledo along with Campbell and now resides in Ames, Iowa where is should not present a problem for anyone.


P.S.----is it just me who thinks that a win by WMU over Illinois should be expected this year and should not be considered an upset?

I don't make much of them. The author also makes it sound like we took MSU to the wire last year. Not exactly accurate...

IMO a number of WMU fans feel this way. Opening the season with a win at NW would be great, but not expected by most. By comparison, many Broncos are viewing at Illinois as a must-win - and a should-win.

I would still consider it an upset. Illinois has a new coach (Lovie Smith), so no way to know how Illinois will play this year. Granted they still won't be top B1G team, but they could easily be much better than before.

All things equal, Illinois is still B1G, with the stronger budget and resources (and home crowd) and would have to be the favorite. But it's a very winnable game for WMU.
