I'll never understand the hate for Hustlebelt. It's just a few people that are fans of MAC schools blogging about the MAC. I don't think they currently have anybody that's an NIU fan writing for them...but somebody around here could change that, if they wanted to. What standard are you holding them to? I don't think I've seen any outright NIU hate there.

I've followed Hustlebelt for some time. Seem to be a lot of Ohio guys running that site. You are correct, they have always been positive or at least neutral about NIU.

Most of the niu writers are niu alums. I wrote for hustlebelt for two seasons and I am an alum. Dave still writes for them and is an alum and big time niu fan. The vast majority of all the writers are current students or alums of their respective schools. It's just blogging. Don't take it too serious.

Don't you realize that NIU is the greatest university ever created? Anyone who at all criticizes NIU athletics has a vendetta against the school. Everyone needs to bow down and pray to Joe Novak at least twice a day.

If someone could offer proof of some kind, that'd be great. My guess is that no news outlet would bother crushing NIU. There's no benefit. And even if there were a bias against NIU, more than likely it would come from an individual writer, not an entire news department. It makes no sense.

And Joe Novak University is the greatest university. People should embrace criticism anyways, because it might increase accountability and attention is good.
