An area we are sorely in need of depth and a real playmaker!

I mean my goodness if you look at that roster, it is almost impossible to say there is not MAC championship caliber talent as a whole. While NIU may not have a huge dominating center, this is certainly not a small team by any stretch. Id argue this is as balanced of a roster in terms of inside and outside scoring NIU has had since the mid 90s NCAA team

I have ADD there have been so many injuries I lose track of time. I hope Maric stays one more year after graduating. I really think NIU can win the MAC this season but 2017-18 really looks to be the year. NIU should be the media preseason favorite heading into that year.

Dontel has 2 left with possibility of another year if applied for and gets 6th year medical redshirt. But could also graduate in 2017 and transfer.
New big guy is great for morale and practice but unlikely to see any meaningful minutes.

Maric likely graduates and transfers after this year. He would be highly sought after. Highsmith likely graduates and transfers after this year if he does not start this year. Zelis will graduate and transfer or quit basketball.

He's on the roster if that means anything.

So this graduate transfer from Indiana played football in college? Not basketball? Doesn't make much sense.

Probably liked his size and athleticism. Doesn't have to play if he isn't good enough. Only on the roster for one year. I don't see the harm.

If Dontel managed to complete enough credits to graduate in 4 years while spending two of them repairing torn ACLs, that's incredible.

If you look at the roster, it is almost impossible to say there is not a MAC football championship caliber talent!! Typical MD, the basketball team with this roster or the fact that he has not seen some of these guys play is predicting a championship for a program that has yet to advance in the MAC tourney. However, the Multiple championship football team is in disarray because the roster changes slightly . MD has never seen the transfer play but has him taking us over the top. What a mind

Our Julius Peppers has arrived....NOT! I did not mean he is a difference maker, I meant I just saw the roster is up on the site and if you look at it, I cannot remember the last time NIU had so many different ways to score. This appears to be a very balanced team. I really hope Highsmith can make some contribution.

NFL teams have been turning power forwards into tight ends for years now so maybe Monty is trying to turn a tight end into a power forward. He might be on to something.
