How long does it take for this place to become the bucket of venom and piss that was EaglePost?

The board will NOT be fully unmoderated. Google Ads are placed on the site (non-obnoxious ads with non-obnoxious placements) to pay the bills and such. As such certain content is absolutely off limits... particularly nudity, illicit activity, etc. Though I'm told if your post count gets high enough there is a hidden board somewhere on the site that Google can't see that has hot chics in it. So I'm told at least. Anyway, Google mandates things such as that cannot be on sites they allow advertisements to be served on.

So, we do have an absolute minimum for content standards. That said you can go pretty far into vitriol land while staying within those content standards. Just see some of the derailed threads in the main political board ("The Spin Room" up in The Lounge area (see nav up top)).

Will do my best to mod this board as well.

Good deal. I'll take partial credit in getting us moved here, but I'd be fine letting someone else moderate so long as they make sure things don't get too crazy.

Even the hardest-to-take EP'ers were either absent, or unrecognizably civil when it moved to Facebook during server issues.

So, yeah, with the cloak of anonymity removed we can behave. Remains to be seen if we can behave with (ahem...) moderation.

the lack of moderation at EP was actually quite refreshing. it's undoing was the sick social dynamic. people mistook being an incomprehensible dick for being edgy and clever.

ultimately, the noise to signal ratio shot off the charts, and it just got boring.
