I saw guys I'd call punks on that show. Law wasn't one of them.
He made up 18 quizzes at the end of the semester on the last episode. 18!!! You think if he was just a regular student he'd have that opportunity? I'm sorry, but if someone needs their hand held that much and babied like he and many other guys in that show are then they're not ready for a 4 year university.
Maybe we don't define "punk" the same way. And if they were Rhodes Scholars they wouldn't be in Skooba, MS.

The academically challenged but gifted athletes end up at Last Chance U ( junior college football factories ) for a number of reasons, some have to do with their personality some have to do with their willingness to work academically or some responsible adult failed them.
The adjustment may be personality or academically driven, but when you have a kid who is trying his best to succeed academically, but its difficult, you have to give them help, but at the same time when you have someone who will not try you get rid of him, that is the same model many businesses uses to retain and release employees.
If your employee want to do the work but cant, you train them, if your employee can do the work but wont, you release them.
Our recruits have all the resources to achieve, they have a year to get stronger academically as well as physically, if these kids fail, I believe Coach would have done everything to help them be successful and the failure is something they will have to own.
