RE: Iowa State President reveals timeline of expansion?
I think everyone is done until the B12 GOR ends. The B12 has been a comedy of errors for the past 5 years. After losing 4 schools, they added WVU alone instead of taking Louisville and Cincy with them (this was before Louisville landed in the ACC). Their geography wouldn't be such a joke had they done this. Alternatively, they could have gone west with BYU, Colorado State, and Houston. That would have broadened their footprint and added some pretty decent football schools. As it stands now, adding BYU (which should be a no-brainer) is problematic because of WVU island.

There is little chance that the B12 GOR will be extended, which means that OU will eventually leave. I'd bet they end up in the SEC with OSU. Then all heck will break loose 07-coffee3

We don't add to the footprint and it would just diluted the money currently. Now with cord cutters the networks may shift to a pay per view/subscriber base to get money out of sports which I feel like would help our chances.

Only Iowa State and Texas have their own 24/7 network but the difference between them was Iowa State had to work for it the hard way. We started with a channel on mediacom and had to work our way up. This year we now are on Roku TV and have an app that streams all our games. We also have a lot of content and shows we put in besides games.

I hope we could go to the big ten(hell even the SEC) in the future and say hey, these are numbers of everyone that subscribes to our content and how big our digital network is. Maybe it will sway them to decide Iowa State is worthy of an invitation.

Yep network wise Iowa is already pretty saturated between Iowa and Nebraska. When I lived in Iowa I kind of got the perception that western Iowa was mostly Huskers, Eastern mostly Hawkeyes and Cyclones thrived in the greater Des Moines/Ames corridor. But Nebraska was a more recent power when I lived there so wonder if that dynamic has changed a bit.

The B1G is really boxed in now. Texas and OU to the B1G is nothing but a pipe dream. Those kids have no interest in playing football in the great white north. Unless they can crack the ACC, which looks futile now, they may not expand at all.

I think the Big Ten is done for the foreseeable future.

I have favored the ACC expanding west & would like to see Iowa St apart of it IF it happens. The Cyclones would add value to the ACCN, especially if part of a western division. I'm not sure how the Cyclones feel about the ACC but it wouldn't be a bad option if the B1G & SEC feel through.

Well, there you have it Lenville. The ACC gets Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and West Virginia. The SEC gets Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. It's done!04-cheers

Lol JR, it only works with Texas. The ACC could take Texas, Kansas, Iowa St & TCU while the SEC nabs Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, TT & WV.
