RE: Big 12 TV partners push back on expansion
My take on this is that it is a tacit admission that college football, outside of a dozen or so P5 royalty teams, has been almost destroyed in value by the BCS system and its current replacement. How else can networks claim that no G5 teams - not even ONE - can bring sufficient value to the Big 12 to make it worth the additional costs to the network? Only by raiding a fellow P5 conference can the Big 12 gain a team that the networks consider worthy. The fact is that many of the better G5 teams are as good or better than many of the bottom 50% of the P5 conferences teams.
