The original drawings showed the bridge lights in a gothic style instead of the modern ones they used.

Not wild about 'em, but it looks like they might be in keeping with other fixtures in the area.

That's what I thought as well. The architecture of the bridge and lighting looks to be consistent with other buildings on campus. The renovations to Snyder Memorial make the building look closer to the rest of campus than the original building that stuck out like a sore thumb. The new dorms along Dorr look more like the traditional buildings than dorms like Carter Hall. The proposed changes to Rocket Hall will make its exterior a similar style with the light stone.

What happened to the Rocket Hall renovations?

Hopefully forgotten. Just one opinion. 03-wink

Architecture can become so monothematic it's boring. Even the homages get old. Rocket Hall is separate enough, if they wish yet another remodel there, hopefully they can consider something original. They do that well also when they rarely do it.

I was hoping for something like Bodiam Castle.

Unless the Ottawa is alot cleaner than it used to be, I won't be participating in that party.

Took out the up-river dams or something right?

Wouldn't go too far down river though.

As for cobbles....for the above reason they would be a bad idea. trap water

Drove over it today. It seems like that must have been the final surface in the picture. It is now machine grooved concrete. Nice new blacktop approaches.

Hopefully decent looking ones, off the bridge so they don't mar the look.
