I read somewhere that if they only take 2 they have to be from the east per wvu contract with b12. Fwiw
Also, going only to 2 and including BYU goes against what Aresco has said publicly, that he expects to lose multiple schools.
And expecting to lose multiple teams has a different meaning than he knows he will lose multiple teams. Aresco is simply preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. The AAC could very well only lose one team if the Big 12 decides to expand by only two.
You're parsing. That isn't what Aresco said. He said, "It looks like we will lose multiple schools."

And again, "looks like" is not the same as "will happen". That's not parsing. It looks like it will rain today doesn't mean it will rain today. Take that from a meteorologist.

My point is he said "multiple," not one. He obviously has a good idea, or he never would have said "looks like." You are changing that plural to fit other possibilities, but without anything to back it up.

This has nothing to do with plural, single, ménage a trois, or whatever. My point is "looks like" doesn't mean "for certain". There is a difference in the meaning and you don't seem to be grasping the difference.
So whether he said it "looks like" we will lose one team (which he didn't say) or, it "looks like" we will lose multiple teams (which he did say), "looks like" doesn't mean it will "actually happen". That's all I am saying.

Does TCU travel by wagon train still?
I hear they upgraded to steam locomotives when they joined the Big 12.

Big 12 West:

Baylor
TCU
On the second thought, I will make this adjustment:
Big 12 East:
UConn
West Virginia
Cincinnati
Navy
Memphis
Iowa State
Houston
Texas
Big 12 West:
BYU
Kansas State
Kansas
Okhahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas Tech
Baylor
TCU
Longhorn network will own 50% of Big 12 East television rights. Texas may give some bonus to West Virginia and Iowa State. The other five schools will just be happy to be in a P5 conference and get less pay.
Fox/ESPN will own 50% of Big 12 East and 100% of Big 12 West. One may get more percentages depending on who coughs up more money to sponsor the expansion.
The eight schools in Big 12 West will get the same pay after the expansion.

Yeah, although I think it's sliding back to the end of the month now. You could make an argument this is the slowest deciding group in the history of earth, even on little things. Makes the old Big East look downright obsessed with speed.
If it goes any longer than that, I may have to change the thread title, lol.

Yeah, I agree with that. But they certainly considered it seriously for awhile. I just don't think it's a good look. Kind of cheaping out. I do think that helps Houston, and cuts the western teams down to BYU or nobody.

Unfortunately for schools that want in the Big XII or current schools in the Big XII not named Texas or Oklahoma...that league is now the P5 version of the "Old BIG EAST"...I'm rooting for the Big XII to get it act together...expand by 4 schools and agree to a GoR extension....but seen this before...

I hope the B12 takes 4 now so when OU/UT leave and we figure 8 B12 plus UConn find the 9 spots in the P4, it leaves the B12 w/ 6 where they can pluck the best 6-10 for their conf. creating the BE-MW merged conf most of us wanted.
So lets say UC, Hou, BYU, Memphis get added now. Then 2025
B12 2025
East
Iowa St.
Memphis
Cincinnati
UCF
USF
Temple
Navy
ECU
West
BYU
Baylor
Houston
SMU
Colorado St.
