Quit whining. If you don't like it, there are other forums where the moderation is consistent... because there isn't any. Nobody is forcing you to post here.

Just saw that Myself, ouch !!!!
UofM was kind of asking for a time-out recently anyway from what I saw. For Stink, his "stoner" shtick was probably wearing thin. If you read his posts on the regular sports boards, he sounds just like a normal sober poster.
I hope many don't take the Board to heart . It's a great way to pass the time at work when You can get time . I try to inject some humor into posts but I have no hard feelings for what gets posted by others. Just hate the news stories of folks getting shot and Terrorist attacks and such. Like every one else it's a feeling of wishing something could have been done to stop it ahead of time.
There shouldnt be any forum rules in my opinion. Whoever cant take the heat doesnt have to come here.
We need to find out what is going on before we let any more of the blacks in our country.
The blacks are 99.99% of the problem in this country. I assume that some of them are good but we have to send them someplace else. The good ones can come back but the bad ones have to stay away. It's best.

'It's the selective moderating that bothers me' is not an opinion. It's a whine. It's a complaint. It's an expression of 'bother'. You can choose the adjective you prefer if you don't like mine.
The point is that the forum you want exists... It is linked above. If that is what you want.. an unmoderated forum, why do you come to a moderated one and complain about it not being what you want? That's like going to chic-fil-a and complaining that they don't have a Big Mac. If you want a big mac, you go to McDonalds. If you don't like chic-fil-a because you don't like that they are inconsistent in the days that they are open, then don't give them your business.
I suspect the reason you don't is because despite your claims... you don't REALLY want an unmoderated forum... I mean that seems rather obvious (since you don't choose that one).

Well I was going to post this when things started to calm down. Two black men ganged up on a WWII vet in a sick twisted knock out game or whatever the hoodlums call it today.

I said I was cool with either a forum with no rules or a forum where the rules are strictly enforced. I just prefer one more than the other.

Well, okay. That's not how I'd interpret the bolded above, especially in that 'here' is a moderated forum.
By definition, the term moderated doesn't jive with 'strictly enforced rules'. The purpose is to encourage and not stifle debate, even if it is somewhat 'spirited'.
Frankly, it seems like most of the complaints about moderation are often the same people saying they can't stand the heat (the moderation is unfair). FAIR is a perspective, not a list.
I stand by the comment... if you want an unmoderated forum... if that is what you prefer... then why do you post in a moderated one? I don't go there, but do you post very often in the one you prefer? If not, WHY not? I'd honestly be interested in the answer, because I think there is something to it.
The moment mods started reacting to the complaints, cries of censorship arose.

I dont go there because hardly anyone goes there. I rarely if every see updates.
For the record, I did say what you put in bold but I quickly followed that up with the either or statement.
As I have said in here many, many times, I dont really care if people agree or not or what side of the aisle you are on, just respect consistancy.

What does that tell you?
YOU may not like it, but nobody posts in the unmoderated forum
MAYBE that means that people generally prefer SOME moderation (even if it isn't perfect) over none.
If you'd like to pay me to moderate this forum 24/7/365, I'll be glad to never post again and will even put forth evidence of 'balance'. Some of you should be tempted.
