No pollster has shown Trump leading since May 19 with the exception of LOLRasmussen. I do think the GOP Convention will bump Trump up to a tie in the polling average, but the following week's Dem convention -- with a far better speaker lineup -- should erase that bounce and more heading into August, where it should be smooth sailing barring some October surprise like a market collapse or something.

A 4% lead isn't nothing. But it's early, and there are a LOT of undecided and 3rd party voters. Hence, our model is pretty cautious.

I worked on a Sheriff's race and we had all the enthusiasm, big excited crowds at every pig picking and hot dog supper. Signs in yards all over the county. Our opponent was as boring as paint drying on a wooden fence. His events were poorly attended and his yard signs were outnumbered significantly. He also won with about 54% of the vote and has been reelected twice since then.
