On the women's side, over the years I have made scheduling suggestions to the coaches and have gotten feedback from them about how the phone calls went, what the obstacles were to getting a particular team scheduled, etc. Never did I think the AD was involved.

It would be someone on the AD's staff as I mentioned previously.

There is an email regarding season tickets that was sent and it has a few of the key home matchup details:

UVA 11/19 which we knew
George Mason 11/30
ODU 12/7

Great home matchups but ugh that all 3 of those are weekday games. Will be hard for many to make those, or at least one. I would have bet and lost that ODU or Mason would have been the home opener.

RE: Future MBB Schedule
In part 2 of the Dukes Dialogue interview with Coach B that Dave Thomas did I could have sworn that Dave mentioned something about JMU hosting St Mary’s this year. If true while not a Power league team that would be a very strong program to have on the schedule. It may have been a mistake because I don’t see them traveling out Our way and Vice versa for a return game.

Yep. Gotta be Mt. St. Mary's. I'm thinking we host Longwood and Fordham as well. Radford, maybe too.

Yeah that makes more sense and Dave mentioned with Longwood so those are the two home games that JMU gets as part of that Georgia Tech tournament.

RE: Future MBB Schedule
I know people complain about the DIII matchups and I somewhat agree on having more than one but this schedule is almost perfect in my mind. Longwood and Radford or two in-state opponents who we should be able to beat which helps recruiting and builds confidence for the guys. I think ODU, ECU, and George Mason should be on the schedule every year so I love to see that. Fordham is a matchup I like because they are a lower tier A-10 team. The P5 games are awesome and I think placed in the perfect areas. Helps recruiting in Georgia and Florida and I would like us to play the Hoo’s every year if we could.

Wow, you weren't kidding. Looks like the average between 1-3 wins a year and last year UMES (one of the worst DI teams in the country, if not the worst) beat them 85-39...

The schedule under Lou Rowe was awful - Both he and Bourne are accountable for the pathetic attendance,.

This is much better

Curious how much of the schedule is HCLR's pencil work and the ink was waiting to dry versus how much HCMB came in with the white out and started rearranging, but we'll never know. I'd think a lot of this began with the previous staff.

RE: Future MBB Schedule
I have no problem with playing a couple of D3 games. In fact, I wish one of them was moved to the middle of the conference schedule as a "reset" game in case things start going south against the CAA. Lord knows we could have use one last year.

Wouldn't surprise me if the two D3 games were Rowe's idea, I think Byington would've gone for low level D1s like VMI or Howard.

I think Byington signed off on all 3.

good schedule! A few weaklings as expected, but 2 ACC plus Florida and ECU - solid VA representation as well

RE: Future MBB Schedule
some of you guys worship ODU so much....they are playing 1 non-D1 (VA Wesleyan) and 1 P5 (arkansas)

is that better?
