RE: Future MBB Schedule
Teams don't want to play us in MBB because we drag down their RPI, NET, SOS, SOB, LMAO, NSYNC, etc. The hope is that under HCMB 2.0, teams won't want to play us cuz dey skurred.

I'm tempted to throw that quote into my signature. Spot on 05-mafia

Who is BRYN ATHYN?

I have not heard of them until I looked at this year's schedule. Did someone rename them self?

JMU does a lousy job of handling the 2 fer 1 both ways. We seem to get screwed either way.........

1 fer 1 with Norfolk St in football
1 fer 2 versus GMU in basketball

I'm not one (like many on here) that over values JMU, but we should be able to do better than that.

Personally, I feel like the idea of "playing a game in a recruiting area" is overrated. But if Coach/AD feels the need, I'd rather set up running 2 for 1s with NSU and Hampton. Schools that draw significantly better than potential opponents use that leverage to secure favorable series matchups. We should too.

As far as Mason (and ODU), I understand their asking for a 2 for 1 against us recently. All we do is drag down a teams ratings. Moving forward however, as we improve to their level and better, we should be settling for no worse than 1:1. And if they should hit a bad spell and we are more dominant, put the screws to them as payback!

Wow, you weren't kidding. Looks like the average between 1-3 wins a year and last year UMES (one of the worst DI teams in the country, if not the worst) beat them 85-39...

One of those Ws was against Bryn Athyn!

To not sugar coat it at all...they are an abysmal DIII team.
For reference, Towson beat them 100-31 last season in an exhibition game. You can't imagine they played starters for most of the game either.

RE: Future MBB Schedule
The fact that JMU must play at George Mason and at ODU 2 times in order to get a home game is an indictment on Jeff Bourne and his unconscionable failure at JMU.

Carrier would have never allowed that.

Caa Schedule announced - back to backs at home and on the road which will test everyone’s depth but if fans are allowed at the games it could make for some nice road trips or trips back to the burg to watch 2 games in 2 days

A unique schedule, for sure. But, back to backs may be good for CAAT endurance. We'll see. I am a MBB pre-season optimist. I think we will be an improved team.

RE: Future MBB Schedule
Will be interesting to see how fan attendance will be determined. Up to school, or location - or for competitive reasons everyone will have the same restrictions?

I could see concerns if UNCW allows 50%, JMU allows 500, and UD allows no one. (just an example). If JMU caps attendance at 10% they would still have more fans than some men's games last year. 03-drunk

Right now 2/27/2021 looks like a good doubleheader of Robert Morris at JMU in the football opener followed by Drexel at JMU in men’s hoops.

CofC is allowing 30%. That’s 1,530 fans. UNCW and Elon will be very small crowds if any at all. Governor Cooper in NC is only allowing 7% capacity in outdoor stadiums, let alone indoor. Nothing has been done for indoor.

The schools north of DC might not have any fans at all.

Between now and January is a long time in the Covid-19 era.

The numbers will go up, or down based on the fall spread and stats. The biggest certainty is the numbers will change between now and January. They will likely even change mid season.

Fwiw I was speaking with a Fordham booster today and he indicated that they will likely travel to JMU as part of the 2021 OOC due to travel restrictions this season. I believe this was an OOC game originally slated for late in the OOC schedule that technically could have been played this year based on the start date of the season.
