Hicklin's first offer was from UNLV. Towson and Middle Tennessee were programs that recruited him as well. Rowe is on record when he signed as saying that physically he is a guy who can contribute right away. I think we'll probably find that he needs some skill development but athletically that he is ready to compete and certainly a CAA level recruit.

Judging from the incoming freshmen Parker and Flowers were the most recruited and may be ticketed as starters in the future. Hicklin and Urbach have potential (Urbach was offered by LaSalle) but probably need to develop and may be more of rotation guys eventually. Just my feeling but programs need starters and rotation pieces too. You can't expect to recruit 4 new starters each year.

Silly Dukeman2 trix are for kids.

So I guess the UNLV offer that was reported in multiple places was a fraud? I realize it was early and there may have been a coaching change in between at UNLV or the bloom came a little off the rose later in his high school career where the offer was rescinded but I'm working under the assumption that at one point they offered and if so he's a CAA caliber recruit especially as a 11th or 12th scholarship out of 13.

Guys, Dukeman doesn’t engage. He just carelessly throws “truth” bombs and runs away. Shocked he’s wrong...

An interesting article from East Tennessee State University regarding a growing Alliance/Consortium of mid-major programs bonding to improve scheduling and leverage...

FWIW, Game 2 at EZU has been set for a 7:45pm tip on Nov. 9th.

https://ecupirates.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=1329

I'm expecting this game to be streamed live via ESPN-3 as consistent with their early season home non-AAC games a year ago. 7:45pm does seem like an odd tip time (though their opener on the 6th is also listed at 7:45pm).

Just learned Clemson is playing an exhibition at UNCW on October 27th with proceeds of the event to go towards Hurricane Florence relief. Kudos to both of those schools for making that happen.

Well done.

Some interesting incentives in the contract for UNCC’s head basketball coach Ron Sanchez, who turned down the JMU job:

• $5,000 for home games against Power 5 conference teams
• $5,000 for each player that graduates
• $10,000 for winning conference USA tournament
• $45,000 for making NCAA tournament
• $10,000 for winning regular season championship
• $15,000 for APR over 970

Dukeman are you ready to answer the call when JMU calls for "Alpha Dogs" of basketball to help back the program to get those nice incentives to boost the team to the next level? Your proposed incentives add over $100K a year to JMU's budget. That doesn't just grow on trees man. Are you getting connected and interacting with JMU decision makers or are you just standing on the sidelines b!tching?

Well done.

UNC-Wilmington was devastated by Florence. They've got a science building that is probably going to be razed it's so bad. I guess what I'm saying is that all the proceeds will most likely stay right there on the campus of UNC-Wilmington.

Responding to Dukeman like he would actually respond to your reasonable and factual post. How cute.

Hello: American University alum here. I understand AU played JMU today in a secret scrimmage; any word on how it went? I assume JMU won, but was looking for details. Thanks.

RE: Future MBB Schedule
Now that the '19 season is complete, looking ahead like many others I am hopeful our guys are challenged with a stronger pre-CAA schedule and one which may attract more interest from fans (though I remain skeptical whether it will really matter to be honest).

Some random thoughts in no particular odor...

*if we are going to attract a power conference team (e.g., UVa or Va Tech or Georgetown) to be a part of the debut of the new arena the season after next, perhaps we will see our guys pay a trip to that school on the road next season [even if a 2-for-1 where we travel there again in the '22 season]

*we have played Mason each of the last 3 seasons and I assume they'll make a return trip to the Convo next season

*I expect EZU to travel to the Convo as part of a contract that saw us head down there this past season

*we played The Citadel at their place 2 seasons ago and then they came to H'burg this past season so I assume we are done with them

*will be interesting to see if we continue on with Radford...we followed same at The Citadel...the 2 programs faced off in '15 and '16 seasons but took a break in the '17 season...if we choose to continue a series with them, it will be our turn to travel down I-81 to face them on the road

*we faced Bitchmond for 6 straight seasons between '13 and '18 but took this past season off...seems like we should be playing one another...kinda hoping that is renewed

*seems like Charlotte owes us home game...we played down there in '17 season, they played up here in '18 and we went down there this past season (same scenario by the way for ODU)

*I don't know if we owe Coppin State a road game or if their visit to the Convo this past season was a 1-game contract

*we traveled to Fordham and hoping they owe us a return game at the Convo

*guessing we will play one D3 opponent again at home (if so, hopefully to kick off the season)

*will be interesting to see if we play in another neutral site 3-game event and if so, where and what level of competition...we played 3 games at Oakland (MI) this past season, but the competition was as sorry as we were...can we up the competition level this year hopefully? We played in a similar event the previous year in the Bahamas. I do like these 3-game neutral site events better than the multi-team events we were doing prior to the past 2 years where we traveled to Montana State.

*Note, I see where Towson and Charleston have already booked themselves into some good events... https://www.bloggingthebracket.com/2018/...anksgiving

Possible home games next season: Mason, EZU, Charlotte, Fordham, ODU, EMU/Bridgewater?

Possible road games next season: Radford, power conference team to open new arena next season?, Coppin State?

Possible 3-game neutral site?
