Right...

It would absolutely get grabbed. Look at what happened with the Redskins when there was that battle with the trademark a few year back. The second there was a glimmer of the trademark being revoked someone was jumping on it.

Surely I am not the only old-timer who remembers that the scoreboard at Cary Field in the late '70s had a large Indian caricature that looked a lot (maybe exactly) like the Cleveland Chief Wahoo.

Not exactly like, but very similar. (See at left). The light bulbs around the perimeter and in the eyes lit up when W&M scored.

If I recall correctly, there was also a non-electric version atop the bleachers in the other end zone, and a painted version on the bricks above the central "cattle entrance" at the 50 yard line (on the inside).

RE: Feathers
On a random/related note -- are we slated to update the "Tribe Talk" logo on these boards? I'd assume Tribal is head of that.

Obviously keep the feathers, but the "Tribe" script is a bit dated at this point.

Yeah, it was me.

What tribe did you have in mind? I think at one point they said we were not allowed to use a copyrighted logo.

Are we going to pay $20,000+ to change our logo because that's what W&M paid.

I'll chip in 3 cents. Or we can just keep the one we have.

We could do that, but I prefer the one where I get $10k

Not to be out done, I'll see your nickel and raise a nickel. Put me down for a dime, as long as there are feathers along with the script.

Heck, if everybody put in two cents, for everytime they put in "their two cents" on these topics, we'd have your fee covered in no time...

Okay, let's put it to a vote: 1, 2, 3, or leave what we have.

It won't take long I don't think. If I ever get some time, I'll slap together a couple of options
