True enough. National media has long been fascinated by shiny objects. The biggest failing of the 'mainstream' media has been its failure to be a government watchdog or to adequately cover and explain the most important issues.

I think this is in part because mainstream media - and I include Fox in that category - is privately owned and advertising drives the train, so hits and clicks and viewers and readers matter. And it's in part because it's simply easier to do.

It's very simple. They are unabashed left wingers with zero integrity.
