Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitarist performed on "Hound Dog," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Blue Suede Shoes" and dozens more Presley classics

While not a shredder or soloist like many other influential guitarists, his style had a profound impact on the history of rock music.

I always liked his stuff, even more now that I am getting older.

Most of his studio work was in the late 50's and early 60's. Before the Hendrix/Clapton era and before modern equipment like distortion, wah's and other goodies Clapton and Hendrix made famous.

Moore, Duane Eddy, Chuck Berry all influenced a great many performers like the Beatles, Stones. Legendary Guitarist whom has some very memorable riffs. Sad to be seeing so many great musicians leaving us in recent years. R.I.P. Scotty. You've been beamed up to join that great musical family in the sky.

This along with Guy Clark and Ralph Stanley. It has been a tough year. So many great artists are in their 80s now. We will only see more and more loses in the years to come.
