Amazing cover of "Hallelujah" by Hawaii legend Willie K, who lost his life to cancer earlier this week.

She should have stayed away from friends
She should have had more time to spend
She should have died when she was born
She should have worn the crown of thorns
She should have been a son

Sometimes a 2:07 song can pack an effective punch.

I am a KISS nut.

This is an awesome quarantine cover by John5 and Charles Benante (Anthrax).

Yes, Kiss was a big part of my music palette growing up. One of my favorite concerts I attended was the 1996 reunion tour when they put the makeup back on after their hair spray metal band phase. The show was at the old Tiger Stadium in Detroit and it was the opening show of the tour. I was in the outfield seats with some friends and the stage was at least a football field away. Didn't matter. It was what you'd expect at a Kiss show...lights, loud, smoke, fire, blood, debauchery, etc.; essentially we're here to entertain and rock you all night. The bonus was Alice In Chains was the first act. Here's the opening tune that brought the walls down...

92, Little known trivia - Gene Simmons did not play on all of the Kiss songs when they recorded in the studio. The late, great Bob Babbitt of Motown fame played the bass on the “difficult” songs.

There is also video on YouTube showing Gene getting pointers on how to play bass from the great Carol Kaye of the Wrecking Crew (a group of LA based, first call, studio musicians). Ms. Kaye is considered to be one of the best studio bass players in history AND she is a better jazz guitar player than she is a bass player.

I did not know those trivia bits. I was aware that Gene played women better than he played the bass.

Been inspired to listen to Rage Against the Machine again after getting some laughs on twitter as some right wingers went after Tom Morello saying they used to like his music until he got political on twitter. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.

Rage still rocks.

Morello makes great music but is an clown and always has been since it’s good for his capitalist branding machine.

Whatever merits or faults people find with Morello's ideology, anyone saying they were a fan of his music until he got political is hysterical.
