We scaled down the budget, but not necessarily the capacity.

They are still saying low 20 thousands.

But just ask Florida RedWolf. It will be 16k according to him.

I never said 16k was for certain, only my projection. Thus far, I have not been proven wrong.

Well, come back in 3 weeks and we'll see if this still holds true.

Trying my best to be nice, hope you get it built. I'm still upset for Coastal failing to build a stadium out on #501 when the program started and away from the terrible location you now have. It was very short sighted of the admin not to do that. I will be returning to the area when my Red Wolves make the trip and look forward to a great tailgate with all. By the way, I have played your golf course a hundred times and was one of my favorite MB courses. Almost won the Myrtle Beach championship there in the late 90's.

RE: An update on Coastal's Stadium Expansion
The location isn't so bad. Once we shift University Blvd we'll be able to bowl in the end zone and get us close to 30,000. I was hoping we would just make Brooks a really nice soccer / lax stadium and build new where our plant ops / practice fields are but would likely be $50+ million at this point.

I wish it was in a better location for expansion as well, but being able to expand to 25-30k where it is isn't bad. My guess, and it is just a guess, was that the Administration at the time probably didn't think all of this would happen so fast. Again, just a guess.

You played Quail/General Hackler? What's your handicap?

that rendering looks pretty good. they could pull the roof off that endzone building and run the upper deck all the way around if they need more seats in a few years.

RE: An update on Coastal's Stadium Expansion
Now, when it says "Ceremonial Groundbreaking" does that mean that the big wigs are going to grab some shovels and dig a hole, and then wait another year or two before the actual expansion happens? Or is the real groundbreaking/expansion going to happen this year.

I just ask because Troy had a "Ceremonial Groundbreaking" for the new endzone facility, but it took 2 or 3 years for something to finally finalize and for the REAL groundbreaking to actually happen.

Phase 1 is scheduled to be done by this coming football season, which gets us to >15k. Phase 2 is scheduled to be done by the following season (2018) which would get us to the >21k.

I was riding through campus to check on it and a backhoe was loading up asphalt that had already been torn out for the footers

Nice rendering. Couldn't you, in theory, also add another deck on the right side of this picture, or is that one hemmed in by roads or other things also.

Not 28 yet. I'm 27. Don't make me older than I am. Not trying to grow up too fast.04-cheers

And I'm not crowing about anything having to do with how we will compete. That's a different discussion. What I'm saying is simple. The teal field is beautiful and you should feel honored to play on such a slick looking surface.

I agree Teal field looks small time.

Rendering aside from that looks fantastic. Reminds me of GS.

There is a highway that runs along that side.
