The second phase is going to raise capacity to 20700.
I would think corner sections similar to Ohio U or even Montana's could get the capacity to 24-25k.Myrtle Beach would likely help pay for the third phase if a bowl game was guaranteed.

I think we could host when phase 2 is complete. The Frisco Bowl stadium has a capacity of 20,500.

I think Phase 3 is to shift University Blvd and bowl the stadium. It will be a while to complete but the first step is to relocate the soccer stadium which is in the works.

I distinctly recall some comments about a year or so ago from our brethren in Atlanta about the revamping of an existing baseball stadium being "...better than building a new erector set..." regardless of cost.

Personally, I think what you guys are doing is very prudent, especially given the nature of revenue in the G5 football world. My son participated in one of David Bennett's FB camps the summer of his senior year (2010) and we really enjoyed our visit to Conway and the campus. The stadium was nice, and with the brick facades and supporting facilities you didn't get the impression of a HS facility. Anything you guys can do to get to capacity in a sound, good-looking and affordable way is OK by me.

We're moving to HH later this fall and will be attending more GS games even though Garrett graduated two years ago. We're looking forward to watching GS play up in Conway...it'll make for a nice little trip up the road.

Ding ding ding ding!!!!!!

The 3rd response I was waiting for!!!!!

To recap:

1. "Congrats"
2. "Yea but you'll never fill it."
3. "Yea but erector set and such..."

I think most of the erector set talk (that I recall) was about UNT's new stadium.

I mean, Turner Field is better than a metal frame stadium any day, and considering it would have cost us about as much to do that as it did to retro fit Turner Field, we would have been stupid to do anything different. That's not to say that metal frame stadiums shouldn't be used, in Coastal's situation it makes more sense. But then how would Southern fans manage to take a jab at Georgia State in every thread of it wasn't for this?

Yes we are jealous, we want an OCS very badly... It would be the next major step for our program.

I don't think South Alabama fans would be okay with an erector set because it might blow over. 05-stirthepot

In 1958, during an Alabama-LSU game, a section of the end zone stands at Ladd did collapse, so we do have that.

Some high def renderings were leaked the other day. Take a look, can’t wait for the stadium to be finished.

Click “view in 360” and click through the pictures.

I have to ask: in the second "viewpoint" in the 360 mode...why is one of your fans in the suite already doing the "surrender cobra"? lol
All jokes aside, your school did a great job with these, and I'm sure the stadium is going to look amazing when it's complete!

Coastal fans: how is your school doing with marketing the games to the local community? I read about how the athletic department had to get, well, creative in order to make the numbers average 15,000 in attendance. Is there anything they are doing to make the community realize Coastal is now in the badass Sun Belt and they shouldn't miss it so those fancy new stands get filled up with real people? I hope so. You guys are a good new member and you deserve support.

That article was more of a hit piece. It is hard to gain attendance when the team isn't winning. It is also hard to win, when your head coach is stuck in New York for medical reasons. If we turn the corner, we should see a huge bump in attendance.

Fair point. Like I said a few months back, I think the 2017 team would have done much, much better with the 2016 roster, considering the success of that year's team. I hope you guys get a lot of fans and rack up some more W's this year, except of course when App comes to town.
