You guys are way too positive...the sky is falling, and it is all Jeff Jones' fault because he can't recruit a fruit fly. But I agree, if we can keep the relationship strong, it does not seem he is doing this to up his stock with other teams, but so he can develop and play for ODU next year.

Don't necessarily want to be lumped into the extreme "too positive" group, but this story isn't breaking news. This was known prior to his verbal. Now, if he does extremely well this upcoming season, could he have a sudden "change in heart"? Yes. However, his decision to go another year was not due to him "testing the waters"/"extending his recruiting"/"unsure of ODU"/etc. Not saying that they are the same player, but this is a very similar situation to that of Carver.

He seems all in on the Monarchs at this point. Early signing period is mid November. That would be a pretty severe change of heart that quickly. Id guess unless a top half ACC or BiG10 team comes calling we should be fine. Im looking forward to seeing him play. Sounds like a good one.

Wow. I kind of hate to lose him. He sounded like a kid with a lot of potential to me. It always baffles me when these guys say such glowing things about a school and coaches when they commit and then walk away. I actually believed he was all in on the Monarchs from the previous article. So now we have nobody committed for the signing period in a few weeks, correct?

Nope, no commits yet. Still a little early though.

Im really hoping for Jahmir Young. (we are top 5). I guess Davis is still out there?

Someone that popped up recently is Caleb Stone-Carrawell (will visit next weekend...might be his last visit?) That would be a perfect fit for us.

Caleb does sound good. First Ive heard of him. He has a number of good mid-major offers. I'd say ODU, UNCC and ECU are his best. Right now 24-7 has him as 100% to ECU.

I would not say set...over the next 2 years we need at least 2 more front court players. For 2019 we need a solid PG and an athletic 6-6 to 6-7 SF.

The point is you have 3 players that are all better than him; 2 freshman and 1 sophomore. Not accounting for any of the wings playing the 4. That could have affected his decision.

I agree that PG and a wing should be focus of the 19 class

A post grad year and a redshirt year. Sounds like ODU didn't want him playing for them until he was 22 :) The Aaron Carver route.(Though, I love having him on the team)

And his projected position is pretty filled up until his junior year...maybe that didn't sit well with him.

The risk with a post grad year goes both ways. Now, it sounds like they would honor his scholly, but he would have to redshirt his first year. Good luck to him....Radford seems like a good spot. He can play with Travis Fields.

On that list, I'd view JMU as the standout. Relatively new coach that was a star player there, brand new arena going up, and only minutes from his home. Or he could travel to one of those others and have less.
