RE: [split] Ronald Reagan's Quote on Assault Weapons
You can use the same drill press to convert a semi-automatic hunting rifle to fully automatic. An "assault" weapon works the exact same way as a hunting rifle. The only real differences are the fact that an AR15 shoot less powerful ammo compared to a big game hunting rifle and the AR looks scary to idiot leftists.

He allowed a one-time amnesty because it was a compromise where he was promised support for a secure border and a permanent tightening of restrictions. They lied of course.

Much of the spending was on defense which was necessary due to years of deterioration and neglect.

The arming of Afghan rebels, which later became the Taliban, was for the purpose of opposing the Soviet invasion. He did lack the psychic ability to predict Osama and the Taliban beforehand.

The other points you make have more validity. Though some of that blame also resides with Congress.

Still would not win a Republican primary today. Trump would nickname him senile Ron.

My guess is 1980 Reagan could handle 2016 Trump or 2016 Hillary.

True, but RR terms had priorities. Defense, stopping inflation and others. Today all it seems the GOP is about is beating the DNC

No way. 1980 Reagan wouldn't have been able to handle 1980 Trump.

You do know that a full auto AK47 is not an AR15 right?

The AK-47 is already illegal for citizens to own without permitting and stamp by the ATF under the National Firearms Act of 1934.

All automatic weapons are.

The stuff that looks like an AK-47 that is sold in the US are not AK-47s no matter how much people who do not know better call them that.

There are laws against this. Plus that is irrelevant. Can you name he last time a full auto weapon was used committing a crime in this country. **Not counting Eric Holder's Fast and Furious!

mass shootings aren't why I hold that opinion (as I've stated)...you don't decide what's relevant or irrelevant. 07-coffee3

lol, no...it's not. (as I already stated)

no they haven't...a federal court has ruled an assault style weapons ban is legal...the SCOTUS has not taken up, or ruled on that issue.

but they may have to soon...

I love how liberals want to overturn settled law when it fits their personal taste yet Roe v. Wade is like it was handed down to Moses on Mt. Sinai.

So after every mass shooting you get butthurt about gun control laws, but admit the guns you want controlled arent relevant.
