How? That had already been answered. The authorities couldn't do anything because he was Muslim and it would have been considered racist or profiling under Obama's rules. What part of Obama and Islam do you Libs not understand?

Wait a second. Guy supposedly 'said' stuff about gays and made other racial slurs and yet wasn't fired because he's a 'Muslim' and it would've been profiling? That sounds like a bunch of BS.

I don't know about you guys, but I've worked with (and served with) guys who've said all kinds of crazy **** about ethnic groups and gays. I've got relatives who've said terrible things, and over the years I myself have said some things in conversations with co-workers or friends I'm not particularly proud of.

Who hasn't, at one time or another, said something awful about someone else?

What I'm wondering is how someone is supposed to know when someone is just venting or is actually going to go nuts and start shooting up a place. Too bad we don't have some sort of temperature gauge on our forehead so people can tell when we're about to hit critical mass.

And how the hell is are the authorities supposed to keep an eye on everybody?

The Monday morning quarterbacking on this tragedy - as with most others, it appears - is amazing.

The article says he worked for the company and the company has contracts with Homeland Security. It does not say that he worked on the Homeland Security contracts. Only personnel who work those contracts probably go through security clearance procedures. He is not going to be vetted for a clearance for working a gated retirement community.

If you're a woman or minority it can be quite easy to get a federal government job or contract, qualifications be damned.
