Damn no easy way to get there from Gwinnett Co.

Nope I have went the I-16 route and going to Athens route no fast way. Depending on what time you are leaving matters most.

An earlier mention of trip from Atlanta to Statesboro taking 4 hours plus is a bit loooong. I can be in Buckhead from the Boro in 3.

I say thread of the year!04-cheers

I can be in Atlanta from Savannah in 4 hours, no way it takes that long to Statesboro, unless you're coming from north of Atlanta and are dealing with some serious traffic, in which case 6 hours may be accurate. 03-lmfao

RE: To the Georgia schools
Every time I have to go from Savannah (area) to Atlanta I swear it'll be the last time ever, traffic is that insane. And every time I head back east I don't even think about stopping until I'm at least 50 miles east of Macon on I-16.

They need to expand I-16. Turn that red clay into concrete!

eh, I-16 is ok. Maybe just to actually be ahead of the curve for once. I usually only travel on it for football games coming from SC. What they need to do is widen HWY 67 from the interstate to the boro. My dad said they have plans to do this, but wasn't sure if funding was approved. I always get stuck behind someone doing 45mph on that road.

Yep, I used to commute from Statesboro to Savannah and back every day, it never fails that you get stuck behind a tractor that takes up half the road, a schoolbus, or an 80 year old driving 40 on HWY 67 into town.

I know that 4 laning it all the way to I-16 was one of the TSPLOST projects for that region whenever that was floated a couple of years back, but since it got defeated, I'm not sure if they have normal DOT funding to proceed or not. It's definitely needed though.

When we start getting over 30k a game it'll be needed. Hopefully road and stadium expansion go hand in hand.
