Former Trojan pitcher makes debut in the show
Ashur Tolliver, southpaw pitcher and grad of Sylvan Hills High, and who was a freshman pitcher with the Trojans, and then transferred to Oklahoma City University, made his major league debut with the Orioles last week. He struck out three of the four batters he faced, and retired the fourth on a ground ball. It's my understanding that left Little Rock because of Norwood. If my memory serves me well, and that is debatable, he was 36-1 in three years at Sylvan Hills. I believe the article in the Democrap said he graduated from high school in 2006, and was drafted by the O's. He toiled in the minors for several years, and had Tommy John surgery in 20012, and had worked himself up to AA ball when he was called up. He's pushing thirty years old.
